Great game, runs lovely, controls are easy and battery lasts surprisingly long. Even the fan isn't deafening as opposed to playing on my mac
Disabled left trackpad. Switched bumpers with each other
TDP limit - 8W; Refresh rate locked at 40hz
Started the game in native Linux mode - frames were jumping around constantly. Proton 8.0-5 fixed it completely. Combined with low presets in game and TDP limit the game runs beautifully

Runs great! Some text can be a little too small and controls are as good as they can be when playing on a portable PC.

Some text is small and may be difficult for some to read
I could play from proton 9.0-1 the first time I booted, but had to switch to version 8 to avoid crashes on subsequent boots
Make sure to try proton version 8 if it crashes when you try to start the game on newer versions

Very good and smooth experience, can get a great battery life. Text can sometimes be hard to read
All low + antialiasing get's me up to 5-6 hours of gameplay
I would not recommend starting playing deck without prior knowledge of civ as it's hard to read everything
sometimes UI gets on itself, to unstuck open and close any menu in game
Turn down the setting to get up to 6 hours of play, text is hard to read but if you already played civ on different device and know your way around it's a great game. 75% of my playtime comes from playing civ on Deck
Game runs flawlessly with zero bugs I could find but the game is a little hard to play and I would recommend changing the controller inputs.

FPS limit 20-30 as its turn based with little motions
Text might be hard to read for new players, but after a while you dont read much and skip the animations.

I was surprised at how this game seems to sip the decks battery.

Switched to Windowed Borderless mode and then it worked great.
Played in a 2 player online Steam friends game and worked great.
Played in a 2 player Hot Seat game and it worked great.

Very small text / tooltips in-game and no UI scaling
Full lock-up of steam deck (once as of time of report)
Some tooltips are really small
Adjust to Medium Settings, no AA. Make sure you use Proton version as the Linux Native version runs a little worse.
Slight performance drop during the 'thinking' phase
The DirectX version select requires the touchscreen
The game ran great, with no issues. I find it a great option for the Steam Deck

It runs on deck after setting up the controls. Runs and looks way better than the switch version.
Locked it at 30fps
Fantastic game to play to play online with people. Only issue I ran into ever was with the ingame steam friends and getting them invited to play. Usually would require a system reboot to fix. After that though ran perfectly.
I've put a decent amount of hours both playing multiplayer games with friends and also just against the AI. I run full max settings which kills the battery, but I can do it at around 45-50 fps which im fine with. You can easily get better battery life and performance if you lower the settings. The developers did a fantastic job with actually labelling the controls when you press the steam button which I really appreciate. Overall great experience.
Some small text, magnifier helps!

Could not get game to launch with any proton version offered out of the box.
Launches and plays perfectly with GE-Proton7-14, have not experienced any crashes so far.
I've gotten crashes every now and then, and it have seemed pretty random, but now I think I found one game action that caused a crash: I plundered a trade route with 3 enemy traders and the game immediately started lagging and then crashed. I also captured an enemy city in the same round which might have contributed.

Couldn't play at all with proton 7 or beta, the 2K launcher was just flickering uncontrollably. Luckily found a way to disable the launcher here - hoping more people will find out they can fix it with a launch command!
2K launcher.
2K launcher could not be closed once the game was launched until I disabled it.

Install normal on SteamDeck. Starting the game updatescreen (download patches and updates) ... show steamdeck logo and then black screen. When i use the touch screen i can see the mouse in the lower right quarter and its locked in this quarter. Test this game in steam beta and stable.
