Works good (singleplay)
Played with Proton 9.0-4.

Seems to work fine.
There's a bunch of weirdness with the game, but I think that's because of the game. It's a strange one.

Could not get it to work on my Linux install, has serious problems on Windows too
It seems like the Steam version is broken at present and I had to do the following steps on Windows to get it to work. I'm sure these could be applied on Linux but I'm unsure how it would be done and it's currently simpler for me to boot into Windows to play this relatively short game.
- In compatibility settings for kl2.exe I set it to run as admin and disabled fullscreen optimization
- I ran \redist\openal\oalinst.exe to install a missing dll
- I set textures to medium rather than high to avoid a crash during an early cutscene
I played for about an hour following this setup and it worked "fine." That is to say, it did run, and it ran well, but my secondary monitors went black. This would presumably be fixed by the launch commands referenced by the other users but I'm just relieved to get it working.
At present, this game would require a lot of tinkering to get working on Linux, and only a moderate amount of tweaking on Windows.

LD_PRELOAD="" gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -f -- %command%
you need this command line if you have 2 monitors, it fixes the black screen on one of the monitors, i just finished the whole game with no problems and if the game crashes it resumes on the spot which is good.

Broken
Won't launch.

The game works fine by default but you should add some commands if you have a dual monitor setup
gamemoderun gamescope -W 1280 -H 720 -b -- %command%
The game doesn't support windowed mode, on dual monitor setup makes your second screen to be on a black screen, so you have to use gamescope with "-b" command
Multiplayer and coop works fine.

Great game, work out of the box

Nothing at all needs changing, it just works!
Works perfectly out of the box.
unplayable
Seems to run perfectly ootb.
Played from start to finish without experiencing any issues. Steam Controller worked fine.

works out of the box
2nd display goes black when game is playing
If your graphics card can handle it, turn on Triple Buffering in Video settings to prevent cut scene lag.
Works now good
No window mode
Played with Proton 6.3-8
Better than expected
Playing on a dual monitor setup, the secondary screen becomes black while the game is focused.
Played this co-op with a friend running Windows. While the game ran just fine for me, they were dealing with constant crashes when reviving or being revived, white screens, and borderline photosensitive epileptic flashing.
I had 0 issues playing through the whole thing in co-op on Linux
Some character animations didn't play and occasionally NPCs jumped and stuttered around a bit. I think that might not be caused by Proton but by the game's terrible netcode and my ping as I was not the one hosting the game.
The game would crash on my buddy's Windows PC whenever changing any graphics settings. He had an issue where he couldn't damage any enemies and had to restart the game. One cut-scene would just lead him into a white screen and he had to reload the game again. I didn't experience any of these issues so I'm a bit tempted to say the game performs better than on Windows, maybe that was just luck tho.
Works out of the box with Proton Experimental
Can Confirm Co-Op works, but not sure about multiplayer

Runs perfectly fine with proton experimental.
Installs and runs fine with latest Proton Experimental. Haven't played through the game, but did a quick Arcade game and seems to run fine.
Latest Steam Client Beta + Proton Experimental fixes CEGDRM issue preventing game to run
With the latest steam client beta and proton experimental it is works out of the box.

Doesn't start.
It's sure living up to its reputation.
