Only minor artifacts are present, but they don't interfere with the game.
Game can be played in any resolution with 4:3 aspect ratio. Widescreen (1920x1080) will crop top and bottom part of the screen, which renders construction menu (F2) unusable. (This issue also applies for Windows, so it's not proton specific).
Game does not launch initially on latest proton version. You need to choose older version (like 7.0-6) to let the game finish hardware setup.
The game needs to be started initially through an older version of Proton to allow it to finish its hardware setup.
After the initial hardware setup has concluded, the game can be launched and played on any version.
If you wish to relaunch the setup for any reason, you'll have to revert back to the older version, but the game will still run regardless.
Does Not Start; DirectDraw Error
Launching the game normally (by just clicking play, which starts the launcher), throws the error "DirectDraw Enumeration failed."
Launching the game .exe directly with Protontricks using the same prefix generated for the game by Steam, causes a black window to appear as if the game is attempting to start, then immediately disappear and (I assume) crash, after about a second.
Installs and runs with no issues.
Working perfectly out of the box.
