paste CryGameSNOW.dll into ./SNOW/bin/win_x64
May need to adjust graphics settings or other tweaks. Low FPS
Requires some tweaks and further testing but it can play
After reaching the main menu, an error window pops up after 5 seconds, and then I'm stuck in a loop of dismissing it.
Overall good
Game just runs slowly overall
Once you get the settings (in game) right, it's alright.
Seems to work without issues
Funciona perfectamente sin hacer nada
Run perfectly out of the box, no issues.

Game fails to launch
Tried multiple versions of proton and it fails to launch every time.
I remember being able to play sometime last year so it only stopped working somewhat recently.

Works fine out of the box. At the first start the resolution needs to be set in the settings.
The menu is a bit buggy, especially if I try to exit the game. Nothing game braking tho
Crashes when quitting the game
SNOW sure plays, but the heavy slowdowns make the experience unenjoyable
Frequent slowdowns
SNOW version 1.1.0.1 (The Ultimate Edition update)
Worked fine out of the box. Game wasn't fun.
Endlessly 'Loading Tyro Valley'

Seems to work just fine.
Got past the initial loading screen this time. Needed to get through a few tutorials before the settings menu was available for changing resolution and quality settings.

5.4-GE-3 GloriousEggroll
Unzip Proton-5.4-GE-3.tar.gz to ~/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d/Proton-5.4-GE-3. You have done this correctly if you can see a script named "proton" (as well as other support files) directly inside this newly extracted folder. Exit Steam completely and start it back up. Under the game's properties, check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool", and select our new "Proton-5.4-GE-3". Start game & enjoy :)
Just to be clear, I never tested vanilla 5.x Proton. I just haven't tried since 4.11 (which didn't work at the time) and I wanted to get it running ASAP, so I threw GE Proton at it right off the bat. YMMV
Shadows would occasionally act funny. Not sure if it also occurs on Windows though--haven't played SNOW or used Windows in quite a while. Nothing graphically game breaking and honestly not that noticeable unless you are intentionally looking for it. Certainly acceptable by console standards.
Whenever trying to communicate with servers, it would just search forever. So multiplayer and events wouldn't work for me. But singleplayer freeroam works as expected.
Got stuck on a DirectX error! The game showed as running but there was no window.
Worked great OOTB. Used Steam Controller and everything seemed to work fine.

Either can't load Tyro Valley, or complains about no D3D FeatureLevel 11..0
I inhibited install of vcrun2015; after that I did "protontricks 244930 d3dcompiler_47". With taht it started, but got stuck at "Loading Tyro Valley". When I removed vcrun2017 and reinstalled it via protontricks, all it did was displaying a window "GPU with D3D FeatureLevel 11..0 not found"
Endlessly 'Loading Tyro Valley'

Works perfectly. Some framedrops here and there but generally performs pretty well.

stuck at loadin screen

SNOW v1.0 now works again after updating the installation tweaks. Read more at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/2279#issue-403971301

For 1.01, I followed the first post at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/2279
Since I'm running Ubuntu 18.04, which has issues with protontricks as of 2/15/2019 (apparently), I use the syntax shown at https://github.com/Sirmentio/protontricks/issues/39. This allows you to properly make the changes in the first link here.
My full protontricks command - $HOME/.steam/steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/run.sh protontricks 244930

I can manage to launch the game and get a black window with audio, but no amount of launcher options works to fix the display issue. Also , another post about hacking at the libraries installed doesn't seem compatible with SNOW v1.0, it seems to me.

The game works relatively smoothly after renaming (or deleting) _CommonRedist directory before the first play (remove SNOW and reinstall otherwise) and manually installing Visual C++ Redistribuable 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2017 (instead of 2015). Thereafter installing DXVK 0.96 and ensuring the prefix is set to Windows 7. Single player runs with minor glitches but smoothly on medium settings and no V-Sync. Multiplayer is not working and stuck trying to load the server list.

Stucks at the loading screen

Stucks in the loading screen for "Tyro Valley".

Loads menu, but servers do not pop up and singleplayer maps stuck on loading.

The game starts, but after choosing whether you want to ski or snowboard, it sits at the Tyro loading screen. It locked my mouse and no other apps would appear when alt tabbing. I had to log out and back in again to gain control. Someone made a youtube video of it working with wine2.1-staging in playonlinux but didn't show if there were any tricks to make it run. Not sure what hardware he was running, but it did not run well at all, managing only 7-12fps.

Game window opens up but never passes the first loading screen.
