The native linux version did not work for me. I switched proton to 7.0-6 and it worked great from then on.

Just set PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 %command% in launch options
The game feels sluggish on native Linux version (~30-45fps) even when tinkering video options on low. It works much better with proton (steady 60fps) with everything at max.

Played around with PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC environmental variable. Worked well with 30
Pressing Return would make the game change from Fullscren to Windowed and vice versa.
Works perfectly and out of the box.
The native version is unplayable for me because of broken controls (a known issue with the Linux version, although not everyone is affected).
