The game freezes sometimes due to the loading of game locations to obtain smooth transisions. Fps drops from 50 to 30.
The game refuses to launch in offline mode, for that you need psn. To fix this bug, you need at first to diwnload the game to a pc and then enter your psn account in the game. Then, you need to copy the entire "Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc" from your pc (normaly located in C:\Users"your username"\AppData\Local). Once you copy this folder on a usb, go to desktop mode and paste the folder in this exact direction: /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2322010 .

From a Windows PC, copy your entire "Sony Interactive Entertainment" folder to the local appdata in compatdata/2322010 after signing into your Playstation account in order to play the game offline on the Steam Deck.
Certain locations cause the game to lag, for best balance of battery life and power I used:
GameScope:
Refresh Rate/Frame Limit 60 FPS / 60Hz TDP Limit: 12 watts
Game Settings:
Vsync: Off Aspect Ratio: Auto Frame Rate Limit: 30 fps Frame Gen: Off
Scaling Method: AMD FSR 3.1 (you can use Intel XeSS but it makes the water shimmer) Quality: Quality
Graphics:
Textures: Medium Models: Medium Everything else Low
Personal Preference:
Motion Blur: Off
Audio cuts in and out randomly
Intel XeSS makes the water shimmer in my experience.

Santa Monica have released two or three patches since my previous report. I can confirm all now works as expected, right out of the box. No notes, A* playing experience!

This game runs and look amazing on the Deck... BUT... beware of GPU and tinkering steps.
SteamOS GPU toggle to 1600Mhz
Joystick sensibility set to custom
FPS set to 30 via SteamOS
The Deck experiences heavy FPS drops in the land of the Dwarfs (Svartalfheim). To fix this issue, you need to set SteamOS FPS cap to 30, and manually toggle GPU frequency to 1600Mhz. After sleep and resume, the issue will come back. Simply toggle OFF and ON SteamOS GPU Frequency again. That should fix it for now. Optional: Set Powertool Scheduler to PERFORMANCE.
A great experience on the Deck BUT beware of the needed Tinkering to make it work. Svartalfheim (land of the Dwarfs after 3 hours of Gameplay) breaks the Game on the Deck. You'll experience heavy FPS drop to 20 and won't be able to play it anymore.
To fix it, set FPS lock to 30 via SteamOS, and GPU to 1600Mhz. If you have Powertool installed, set it to Performance will help as well. After Sleep and Resume, the FPS issue with drop to 20 will be back. To solve it, toggle back OFF and ON SteamOS GPU to 1600Mhz.
This tinkering is very easy if you want to enjoy God Of War Ragnarok on SteamDeck.
For the OLED, you'll need to toggle HDR on in the game setting after every restart. Unfortunately, the option doesn't stick in the current version.

I often can't play games with an internet connection, and this game doesn't work without one. It will now launch to the main menu, but controller input is disabled. If you rebind to mouse and keyboard buttons or hold the Steam button + use trackpads and other buttons to emulate keyboard + mouse controls, sure, you can navigate menus.
But it seems to either be a prevention or a bug with Steam Input in offline mode. So for now, for my use case, no the game doesn't function.

Switched in game function for quick turnarounds to be back on left joystick and sprint. The default setting did not compute at al
For a second thought it was my sd but I think it's just the game hopefully patches soon
During cutscene early on about 30 or so minutes in server frame drop down from 30 to 2 and the SD froze requiring to manually shutdown. Was fixed with manually setting the fps through sd controls to 60.
Just the one noted during performance where it dropped down
Beat a story boss fight that was supposed to award an achievement about 30-45 minutes later realized it never unlocked had to start a second save file to go back and earn it
Runs well on medium to high quality with some minor adjustments here and there when capped at 60fps

At a certain point in the game, it tells you to open the skills menu using the "Back" button. I cannot get beyond this point, it does not register me as having pressed that button.
The game worked right out of the box and runs fine. The only issue I've encountered is the "Open Skills Menu" area, I'm trying to find a fix for it. Other than that, it's been perfect.

Run Great on Steamdeck with stable 30fps framerate and sometimes better if enable FSR

I'm running on OLED SD with 1TB upgrade.
Game boots no problem, you get a PSN popup with the SD browser, login there and then back to the game. Shaders take about 5 mins to compile.
Set up on high quality settings, with FSR3 set to quality and frame generation. On the opening scene, i'm getting high 30fps, then mid 30fps on the first 5 mins of gameplay
