As the previous person stated, probably wise to lower the wattage to single digits. I'm currently running 8, but I'm sure 7 is just as safe. Game runs perfectly fine.
I changed the trackpads for mouse controls with the Back Grip Buttons as hotkeys for Build Menu, Buddy Grammi Editor, Edit Mode and Dismantle Mode.
Changed it to 8 watts.
The game was accidentally built for Steam Deck. While it notes gamepad is not supported, there is native gamepad support and it works great. It might take a little bit to figure out what does what, but it's very fun to play. Menus can be a bit sluggish nagivating with the right-stick, but that's where the mouse (PC) and trackpad (Steam Deck) comes in.
On PC I tend to play the game (combat, craft, explore, etc) with native gamepad support. When I have to do anything that involves menus (Build Menu, Buddy Grammi Editor, etc), I use keyboard and mouse for ease of use. With Steam Deck, remap the trackpads and back grip buttons to your keyboard and mouse. It's stupidly simple and Steam Deck might be the best way to play this game.

Habe die Watt wie bei fast allen Spielen auf 7 Watt gestellt, damit der Akku laenger haelt.
Rennt direkt out of the Box. Es muss nichts geaendert werden.

Proton Experimental is my default for all non-verified games on Steam. I only change Proton version for those games that have issues with it.
NB: This report is for the demo version of the game as it is not scheduled to enter early access until late March (according to the Steam Store page for the game).
