I've completed the arcade mode using Proton 9.0-4 without problems

Runs great on the GE-Proton with kernel 6.1, for other configurations i had to pass « PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% » but it runs too.
It's great that a game like this can be kept alive thanks to compatibility layers and updated netcode.
gamemoderun %command%
I had to disable Steam input for PS5 controller.
Multiplayer works like a charm, and it is great to see so many players for this game.
Probably a good idea to set full-screen in the in-game graphical settings. The game will not launch full-screen since it is pretty low resolution.
Runs perfectly OOTB.
Game ran with zero issues OOTB.

No major issues encountered.
Runs very well on KDE Manjaro Linux, im not tested multiplayer.

If you are running into issues where you are getting double inputs, Proton 6.3-8 worked fine. If you're using a version of GE-Proton past 6.18, you may come across instances where your inputs are cloned across P1 and P2 sides. Once I rolled back to 6.3-8, everything worked fine.
Working perfectly fine.
Tested local multiplayer with two xbox controllers.

Doesn't load at all
Installed Game and tested using, Proton Experimental, Proton 6.3, Proton 5.13. None worked.

Can't get into a fight, crashes when selecting a character now.
I tried disabling DX11 and ESYNC, I tried running it without, and the damn thing doesn't simply work. If only some CHAD ALPHA MALES wouldn't just use IDA Pro or Ghidra to just break the source code down, open source it, add in rollback netcode, and absolutely DESTROY SNK's abandoning of this game by choosing to support 2002UM over it as opposed to alongside it, then maybe this one would be getting more reports that EXPOSE how poorly KOF98 UM runs right now on Linux. Otherwise, just get Fightcade and play online with others. Its a damn shame people haven't just added in the characters from this version into the OG Neo-Geo version, as that's really the only thing that's missing from the OG that really matters.
The game runs flawlessly out of the box.
No graphical errors, could play multiplayer with someone running it on windows. Controller works fine thanks to steaminput.
Runs perfectly on the right version
I had to force the use of Proton 4.11-13 instead of my default 5.0-4 but it ran perfectly after that.
This is the GOG version in GameHub, which worked perfectly without any tweaks. Installed with Proton and not InnoExtract.

I have not had any problem, It just works

Would give this a Platinum score, if wasnt for the input delay. Some of you may ask: Isnt your controllers fault? No, beause i simply dont use any controllers. I run this game both on Windows and here on Ubuntu, but here i have this delay problem. It isnt a big deal because its a few frames only (i would say like, 4 or 5 frames delayed), but we are talking about a fighting game, and every frame matters. But generaly, its playable.

Must set full screen in game, otherwise, no issues. Sound/Graphics/Control Remapping all work fine out of the box!

Only played arcade mode using Steam controller. Everything works great, except for some reason the screen saver turns on (this happens in KDE Plasma and LXQT). Need to disable screen saver.

Very good performance and also working with xbox one controllers bluetooth and usb

Works well in fullscreen, stuttering/freezes in windowed mode. Japanese font/characters is not displayed correctly.

Works perfectly, both in window mode and in full screen. Xbox 360 controller compatible and configurable
