Works fine in gaming mode with either controller or keyboard & mouse, desktop mode has stuttering
Applied the HUD & subtitles scaling patch (see PC Gaming Wiki)
TDP down to 6w, GPU down to 700MHz
Worked fine once I Installed the HUD/text patch
Some issues in desktop mode, otherwise fine in gaming mode
Works great with the gyro or keyboard and mouse in gaming mode, can get 5+hrs of battery life (probably longer if you turn the brightness down). It's quite stuttery in desktop mode on the same settings. For reference, I have a JSAUX dual monitor dock and I have been playing the game on 1080p max settings via the HDMI port using keyboard and mouse when docked.

Game is amazing and work extremely smoothly. At max setting you get 60 fps and 6hours of gaming on latest proton!
Base on how you want to play I made a few easy modifications:
- lowered mouse sensibility for track pad
- adjust the buttons so that the layout is more similar to a playstation controller
- if you are using the trackpad I recommend removing healing from trackpad because you will activate it without wanting to!
Text is very small, i recommende reducing the sound of the game instead so you can rely more on the voices instead of the subtitles;
No issue with save but note that the game does not support steam cloud save meaning you have to manually transfer your saves if you want play your same game on Desktop
Only noteworthy detail is that the controls take a bit of time to get use too but otherwise is a flawless experience right out of the box! Horror game Steamdeck supremacy!
Wrote a script to change the resolution in the configs to what is available to XWAYLAND1.
Had to write an entire layout to be able to access everything. Played start to finish with it.
Text is too small for some even in handheld.
Plays too fast when returning from sleep.
No gamepad support.

Save data is deleted when the game is uninstalled. No Steam Cloud support.
Moved aiming from half-press R2 to L3 click. Re-mapped d-pad with some combat hotkeys.
Subtitles do not scale.
Audio samples were affected during framerate drops.
Control scheme was not maintained throughout. Some buttons lost functionality temporarily (usually the back grips).
Momentary framerate drops when SD overheats, also during some intense combat moments
Virtual keyboard text entry only needed for profile creation and save file naming (can be ignored altogether if you dont mind all your saves named identically and using the timestamp to tell them apart).
Game was made for 4:3, 1024x768x32 is highest intended resolution.
Set your gamma to match the 'barely visible' text (I increased mine by a lot).
Screen brightness at 11 steps from lowest, I got 5+hours battery.
All max settings, very steady 60fps except during the occasional drop for a second.
Plays great! Not a single crash that I can remember throughout my playthrough. Holds up very well!
Added some additional actions to the right pad, customized some bindings to my liking
You can scale up the HUD in the options. On the deck you might also need to bump up the brightness/gamma to see better in dark sections.
5w
The default layout for the game works, but I thought it felt best with some tweaks for my preferences. It runs very well at 5w, reporting ~3.5 hours.

The expansions Perseus mandate and Extraction point also work well. To set the right resolution in the expansions follow these instructions as reference https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/F.E.A.R._Perseus_Mandate#Widescreen_resolution
Game has joystick support; Z axis is the right stick, Rx is right stick horizontal, Ry is right stick up+down, X+Y axis is the left stick for horizontal and vertical control. Change Steam settings for joysticks from mouse control to joystick.
Able to increase font size
The default controller mapping is insufficient and the mouse is overly sensitive. It would work better if you attached a mouse/keyboard.
Small text for the screen size.
Steam Deck emulates a mouse/keyboard. The mouse is overly sensitive and the assigned keys miss flashlight and the speed key.
