mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Rarely happen, but certain bosses' attack projectiles remain stuck on screen. May caused by the game itself rather than proton/dxvk or graphic driver.
Great performance, no stutter observed, no audio problem

First tried proton experimental. Game launched but mangohub was flickering. Following launches have the game flickering. Switch to 8.0.5 solved the above problem

Proton Experimental (does not play videos in-game)

Guitar case artwork does not render in-menu, does render in-game
Mouse input does not work properly in-menu
Camera began erratically reseting in level 4, making progress impossible
Getting this game to work was quite the hassle. Regular Proton 7 works without most of my described issues, but pre-rendered videos don't appear (replaced by color bars). Proton GE fixes this, at the cost of plenty of other issues. I found that 7-14 crashes, and anything I tried more recent than 7-25 didn't work at all. I didn't granularly go version-by-version though, so perhaps 7-35 or another earlier version would've worked as well with less issues. An excercise for the reader.
If your comming from the switch, its definitely way better. It at least doesn't glitch out as of yet and frame rate is smooth.
The pre played audio would repeat for some parts of the game.
Sometimes the videos in the overworld are replaced with the broken colored bars signals.
I only had one which was very minor. Thankfully it's not during a important boss battle but before jumping "down"
Overall, game play is decently smooth. Minor bugs like no video play and audio are on loop. Sometimes in the overworld, there were minor freezes.
I only use proton experimental. I had to forced an install by installing the app on desktop mode.

Came back to this as I've been putting off a playthrough. Works perfectly this time around and can be launched more than once.
taskset -c 1-8 %command% (Legacy attempts, may be irrelevant today)
Issue in my original report inconclusive, glad it's working when I tried today.
Sometimes after a boss fight the game would get stuck on loading, requiring a restart.
Game was great to play on Steam Deck. I was able to complete the main story with consistent ~60 fps. Tried on standard proton but the bugs with that were awful. No in game video billboards and the audio from them would replay and overlap. However with GE 7-14 was able to play with minimal to no issues.

Game is marked as unsupported but the only issue I noticed with the proton version it defaults to is that the videos don't work.
*I'm library sharing this game off a friend

Perhaps hardware dependent? Same experience as Popito, game worked first time, never again til reinstalled/proton prefix cleared.
mf-install with taskset -c 1-8 %command%
in the game launch arguments
When it did run, a few frame stuttering moments but otherwise perfect.
Followup to my first report. Same experience as Popito: the game would launch the first run of install, then all subsequent runs would be a black screen stuck at 5% CPU usage. After a few nights troubleshooting it was still inconsistent on whether the game would do anything past it's initial black screen.
I'm curious on whether this is hardware related given the two "Works + easy" reports are on amdgpu.
The same night as my first report I was able to get it running and tried mf-install and after using adding ‘taskset -c 1-8 %command%’ to my launch options the game began to launch consistently however that report got rejected. I am here today following up as I've launched it again today and it has resumed not launching regardless.
first time game would work fine. After that it would just black screen and not work a all
Game runs perfectly and all cutscenes are good too.
There's a bug with the confirmation button setting. Don't change the confirmation button setting.
I have no idea how the guy below this report didn't get it to work, this runs even on default proton. That being said, the game has some pre-rendered videos (the intro for example) that will not run if not using GE's proton, but the game does not crash if it can't play a video.
Played through the full game, using (remote play) coop, didn't encounter any issues, all timings were correct (or at least as correct as in Windows). The only issue I had is that the game starts on a side monitor instead of the main one, but window can be moved to the main one safely.

Was able to defeat DJ Subatomic Supernova with no issues on an Xbox One controller before posting this.
(Reported experimental version: Proton Experimental (21/10/2021))
I had to use mf-install to the game's pfx and Proton Experimental's directory to get past the initial black screen
Needed mf-install and the game still sometimes blackscreens. I had to also use 'taskset -c 1-8 %command%' in the Steam Launch Options for the title.
everything I could throw at it gave me a black screen with my cursor and the game never initialized.
Tried Proton GE 6.19, 6.18, 6.17 | Proton Experimental | Proton 6.3-7 and more. Hoping this can be played without having to whip out the VM with some better attempts than mine.
