Set TDP to 9, but it isn't really necessary.
Most of the text is fine, but the turorials are hard to read.
Works out of the box from start to finish.

Although the game worked perfectly before, the most recent update causes the game to crash consistently on boot with Proton 9. Switching to Proton 10 (Beta) has solved this issue for me
Works great! I recommend lowering all settings as well as resolution via the TSR resolution scale option in game. Doing so will maintain an unbreakable 30 fps cap, which I recommend setting via the game's competent framerate limiter in the menu (in order to avoid input delay from Steam Deck's built in framerate limiter). TSR is highly recommended, as the other upscalers available produce a much more distorted and incomprehensible image. Lumen ray tracing is completely intact and very impressive on the Steam Deck, despite the visual noise and light lag incurred by the low resolution scale required

the text was small, but in most cases it wasn't a problem
I played the game on the Steam Deck from start to finish. I was surprised that the Steam Deck LCD could get about two hours of battery life and a pretty good picture. There were glitches and image flickering, and I had to restart the game a few times, but nothing that really affected the gameplay (it was fun and satisfying to blow off the heads of the criminals). I lowered the resolution to 720P, set the textures to medium, the range to FAR, and the TSR to 60, and set the rest to low. So this settings give me a stable 30-40 FPS (2/3 of the game), but there will definitely be some drops. This is not a "platinum perfomance", but I highly recommend it for Steam Deck.

Tweaking the game configuration file
Add the following at the end of your .../RoboCop/Saved/Config/Windows/Engine.ini file
[SystemSettings]
r.ViewDistanceScale=0
r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=5
r.LensFlareQuality=0
r.ReflectionMethod=2
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.Lumen.Reflections.Temporal=0
r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.Temporal.MaxFramesAccumulated=32
Add this line if you wish to disable shadows, (not recommended):
r.ShadowQuality=0
More info about these tweaks:
FPS limit in--game and the Steam Deck at 30 fps.
Text is small, especially on tutorial prompts and pick-ups, but just abour readable and doesn't affect gameplay.
Engine.ini graphic tweaks helps a lot. Otherwise, frame drops cause audio to be out of sync during cutscenes. Visuals dip and slows to ~20 fps causing it to fall behind dialogue.
NPC Mouths during Cutscenes, (a known issue)
Weird mouth bug present on other NPCs during cutscenes which is a known issue. Setting view distance to 'epic' or further .ini file tweaks might help with this.
Between 20-30 fps during game play with instant dips when explosions occur or when traversing areas that are being loaded into the game. Cutscenes at start of game very slow with audio/video sync issues. Engine.ini tweaks seem to help with these issues.
Reminder about Mods: To use mods, be sure to use Blueprint Mod Loader - DML and remember to add a "ModToSpawn" entry to your Engine.ini file for each mod you wish to add.

Disabling shadows in via the Engine.ini file provides more stable 30 fps.

The lightning-engine us prone to 'freaking out'. You'll notice it sometimes makes the environment 'shimmer'. Nothing gamebreaking or too distracting, though. FPS is low by default, especially during cutscenes. This can be overcome by adjusting your settings.
Will it run as good as on a Series X or PS5? No, obviously not. I've played through both those versions, though, and found the Steam Desk-version to be quite impressive and flexible. These are my settings. which give me a stable 30fps (which is quite enough), bar some drops int the (high) 20's during heavy explosions or big battles, but that lasts only a a fraction of time. The warehouse battle against the UED's remains a stresspoint, though. Cutscenes may occasionally drop to the mid-to-high 20's, but that doesn't distract.
- Steam performance menu: frame limit to 30fps
- Resolution: the one below 1280x800 (can't rememer what it is exactly)
- View Distance: far
- All settings to medium
- Reflections: SSR
- Resolution scaling: 50
- Upscaling: TSR
Can't speak for versions before patches as of august 2024, but this runs acceptable.
But.. if Lewis calls me 'partner' one last time, there will be... trouble.
I played the game from beginning to end on the Deck. No, it won't look pretty or feel as smooth, and there were some glitchy artifacts along the way, but it's certainly playable, you just have to curb your expectations. I locked the FPS to 30 and it mostly maintains that, but a few parts from the mid to end game with large enemy groups may experience dips, most notably the first fight against the UEDs, which is also known to have performance issues even on desktop setups. Some of the larger open areas like Downtown may ocassionally stutter when you move through as new segments need to be loaded.
This is a game most definitely better enjoyed in docked mode, in handheld you'll be lucky to get 1h20m of playtime on a full battery, and most of the time you'll have the Deck's fans going full blast.
I experienced a total of 2 crashes, both when coming out of the sewer area back into Downtown, in 2 different chapters. As this happens to be a checkpoint and the game properly saved on both ocassions before crashing, no progress was lost, I was able to resume exactly from where I left upon relaunching the game.
There was a very minor bug when playing with a controller, every time I checked the map, the cursor wouldn't be centered. Slightly moving the analog stick would re-center it though, so not a big deal.
For settings, I used the low preset with the following changes : Upscaling : TSR, resolution scale : 60 Shadows : Medium Framerate : Unlimited (but limited to 30 in the Steam overlay)
TSR looked better for me than the default option of the preset and it also helped with cutscenes, the default option of the preset was causing severe frame drops in some of them otherwise. Shadows to low seemed to cause random glitchy artifacts under some lighting situations, most noticeable in some cutscenes, on character's faces. Setting it to medium mostly fixes those issues and doesn't make a big impact on performance. Capping the framerate by Steam OS rather than in-game seems to do a better job at keeping it stable.

It goes back to 30fps without much trouble, and the bug doesn't look too big, but when there's a fierce gunfight, the fps drops significantly. In particular, I couldn't proceed with the game anymore because the fps fell so much that it was hard to play normally in the old factory mission. I will hold off the play until the development company proceeds with the performance patch.

Missing Monitors and Screens are messed up leading to a white screen, Player's UI tends to glitch out when Weapon sight is down, the Auto-9 gun and other guns particles may be missing, lighting may not be accurate as possible.
During the Abandoned Mall section, a Fatal Error happened when RoboCop Supposedly dies from his hallucinations crashing the game, Steam Decks Operating system is still functional after crash and was able to launch Warframe just fine, Experimental and the Latest version of proton doesn't help with it, it causes a crash and that's it, as of right now I reverted my save back to a certain point of the game due to me not being able to proceed
I would hold off playing RoboCop on the Steam Deck or other Linux Devices until it gets patched out and Proton is Updated for those Issues

Unlike others have mentioned, does not work out of the box on Deck for me. Cannot get into gameplay.

It mostly confirmation windows for the game and small text during repairs function, HUD may be a bit hard to read
There's going to be some graphical glitches with the aim down effects of the lockon where it goes black for a quick second and back to normal, worsen if there more enemies on screen
GPU is going to be close to 99% or 85% most of the time
No Bugs so far, well besides the Micro SMG spinning like a record on the floor
The walking tank with a gun
