It works well now but many proton versions didn't work for me.

Hair texture doesn't look right to me, in comparison to what I saw on other consoles
Crash when browsing through league events in the middle of game interface
I changed Display Quality to costum, resolution scale to 90%, sidelines to medium, Turf to medium, spectators to medium to get frame rate around 40 FPS and with excellent graphics.
graphics preset "low"

With proton experimental the controls didn't work, changed to proton 8 and they worked. Unfortunately you have to be contacted to the internet to launch the game, after that you can disconnect.
Fonctionne très bien depuis la dérnière mise à jour, agréablement surpris. Atteint facilement les 60 FPS en bidouillant dans les paramètres.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ucrtbase.dll=n,b" %command%
Limited frame rate to 40 FPS.
If you open the steam deck menu, the game crashes. I was able to play online matches if I don't open these menus.
Playable.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ucrtbase.dll=n,b" %command%
After multiple crashes, I was able to play one game, but I could never get to the menu the next times.

Set the graphic settings in game to low.
The text is a bit too small but it's readable nonetheless.
The framerate drops sometimes for several seconds, but it's temporary.
Sometimes the game gets stuck on a black screen when launching it, just exit the game from the Steam menu and relaunch it.
The game often crashes in the main menu when scrolling through the main banner. Just move to another menu quickly to avoid the crash. The crash seems to happen when the game has to play videos.
No more issues than I would experience on my desktop PC.
The game used to get stuck on a spinner at launch, but it has worked fine since the 2.5.1 update.
There are still some stability issues (crashes when playing videos, sometimes gets stuck on a black screen on launch), but I've managed to play many hours so far.
Set the graphic settings to low to save the battery.

game works with 6.3-8, though one cannot play ranked pvp league matches. i have a hunch that 6.3-7 would work, but i haven't gotten around compiling the older proton version. if someone knows where we can download archived proton / wine binaries for the steam deck, do tell!
with 5.13-6, Settings.exe stalls. run pkill -9 Settings.exe
the game will also complain about not having enough vram if running on the older 5.13-6 versioned. set vram to 4gb in the bios to avoid prompt.
not sure if this is also needed:
protontricks 1665460 ./vcrun2019_ge.verb
slightly modifed verb url (/exec -> /wait): https://gist.github.com/rezzafr33/4b137e3e01f42af9c8685c3bc7b7c2a9
make sure your protontricks installing has access to reading the filesystem that the verb was saved to if using the protontricks flatpak.
change graphics to low, and then via custom options you can select high texture settings, high turf / net, as well as 100% render resolution. this way, the game will usually have 60 fps outside of cut scenes and free kick view.
the main menu will inevitably crash when scrolling through the cards.
version 6.3-8 will freeze in the quick multiplayer match making menu when attempting to exit.
sometimes, the game will abandon the match despite the match being over. not sure if this is a pc issue in general, or a proton/linux issue.
for whatever reason, my install will frequently refuse to launch, linking to codefusion url citing drm nonsense claiming i can't activate the game anymore, and to try again later (in 24 hours, though sometimes trying a few hours later works). ymmv.
the game won't launch without an internet connection, though doesn't need to maintain if only playing locally.
Everytime you launch this game (with right options and proton version) in gamemode, you have to delete proton files and tinker a bit
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ucrtbase.dll=n,b" %command%
Put a dll file inside efootball installation folder
It works only in desktop mode
If launched in gamemode, it just does not work

was working fine with Proton 6.3-8 but the 2023 update broke it. managed to launch with 5.something but crashes at main menu.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ucrtbase.dll=n,b" %command%
Lowered graphics settings to low
There are some major performance drops in some menus during the match and gameplay, but game is playable
Game sometimes show error message during the match and disconnects, but this issue can be on windows too
On newer versions of proton game freezes when trying to connect to the servers at launch. To bypass this issue you need to use proton 6.3-8.
To make multiplayer to work you need to copy ucrtbase.dll file to the bin folder on the game, instructions: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/5187#issuecomment-980507627
After the initial training sequence the game is trying to connect to the internet and it gets stuck on a loading screen, you cannot access anything besides the starting sequence.
It is one of the first reports after the game's 1.0.0 update, it worked perfectly before on my Pop OS PC. The same online issues as on Steam Deck keep happening on the Pop OS PC after the update. At first I thought the game's servers are down, but then I've checked some streams and people were able to play the game on windows.
