No longer playable due to the game reaching end of service
The official game servers of Swords of Legend Online shut down on the 30th of June 2023. You cannot play this game anymore.
Immediately stops after starting, tried every Proton version + Proton GE
gamemoderun ENABLE_VKBASALT=1 MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Needs Proton 6.3-8. With Proton-GE and Proton Experimental there are framedips every 5 seconds. With the specified Proton version the performance is stable.

Games run just like native with Proton 6.3-8. 30hrs e and no problemas at all. Graphics set to High and run on 60-50fps (Crowded areas)
Proton Experimental
If i use Proton Experimental, some small freeze effect occurs every 5-10 seconds, changed to compatibility mode with Proton 6.3-8, game runs smoothly on High Settings with 60fps.
Just work with Proton and Proton-GR, using "WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1 %" improve the performance a little.

Works well out of the box
Biggest issue is that I haven't managed to enable DLSS
Proton experimental runs this game better than Win10 does (higher FPS, lower ping). Minor graphic bugs though.
Occasional lighting bugs
Runs out of the box. Ping is 5-10 ms lower compared to Win10. FPS also a little higher. (same pc)
Game runs perfectly fine. it deserves platinum
Performance is equally bad on Windows 10 - The game engine is not great in busy areas.

The game is rated as GOLD, but it is really border lined to PLATINE. It works flawlessly, like the native.
Some light glitch, but nothing major or important. I have some little texture issues (sometimes ground texture is catch by the character) and chat text issues (del key mark a point), but this is not anoying at all).
Proton 6.3-6 installed on Garuda Linux runs with absolutely no problem at all, same performance and stability of Windows counterpart.

deinstalled amdvlk opensource driver cause it crashed .runs very smooth, 25-40 frames on minimal settings on 1920X1080p 80%scaling
one time the music stopped, but after restart no problem ^^
Game music suddenly stopped, after restart no problem. Some items for crafting don't load pictures in the inventory.
I think there is anticheat, but no idea which one
Runs after re-naming the [gujianol.exe] file to [SOLO_Launcher.exe].
(And disabling the original SOLO_Launcher.exe by setting it as SOLO_Launcher.exe.bak) --
Then you simply have to specify which server you want the game to connect to in the Steam game launch parameters.
For EU: serverlist_url=https://serverlist-gujian.gfsrv.net/eu.json %command%
For NA: serverlist_url=https://serverlist-gujian.gfsrv.net/na.json %command%
Runs fine with Proton Experimental, performance issues but nothing really bad. I suspect my GPU is having trouble at 3440x1440 on this game.
Sometimes graphic artifacts appear on the character and the NPCs around.
The game runs faster under Windows on a less powerful computer. Old core i5 / 8GB, gtx 1060 80-100fps (her) vs 40-70fps (me)

Crashes After Splash Screen
The game launches out of the box on Proton Experimental, and I can select my game server, but right after the SOLO splash screen the game just stops running inexplicably.
Works perfectly out of the box with no tweaks needed. Used Proton Experimental for this. Almost runs better than on Windows. Perfect!
Latest Proton Experimental works like a charm

Bought the game. Set the proton version to "Proton Experimental". Installed the game. Clicked "Play". Done. No issues.
Audio in cutscenes quickly fell out of sync. It's possible it had to do with dxvk shader compilation causing the video to fall behind where the audio thought it should be; but either way, expect to be reading subtitles in cutscenes.
Everything seems to work perfectly out of the box with Proton Experimental as of 2021-07-11. Other than what appears to be dxvk stutter in some parts, it's been running quite smoothly.

Can't get past start screen.
Can start with setting changes below. Once in start menu can adjust menu settings like resolution and other options but will not continue into game. Sometimes shows "press any key". Always shows rotating circle like it is trying to load something but never goes beyond this point. pressing keys or clicking (other then going into menu options is unresponsive.
Some shadows in the game cast your character and other NPCs in said shadow with a grey mirror like appearance. However this doesn't happen often or with all shadows and doesn't affect game-play.

The previously described rename of the games main executable and adding the server url as parameter did the trick. Because it wasn't explained in detail i will give you a bit more infos:
- Locate your games files in your steam library folder (...\steamapps\common\Sword of legends Online\bin64)
- Rename the SOLO_Launcher.exe to SOLO_Launcher.exe.bak or something else
- Rename gujianol.exe to SOLO_Launcher.exe
- Switch to Steam and Right Click on the game in your library and open the Properties
- Add the following command according to your region under General Launch Options
For EU:
serverlist_url=https://serverlist-gujian.gfsrv.net/eu.json %command%
For NA:
serverlist_url=https://serverlist-gujian.gfsrv.net/na.json %command%
- Start the game and enjoy playing :)
Ran just fine after re-naming the [gujianol.exe] file to [SOLO_Launcher.exe].
(And disabling the original SOLO_Launcher.exe by setting it as SOLO_Launcher.exe.bak) --
Then you simply have to specify which server you want the game to connect to in the Steam game launch parameters.
For EU: serverlist_url=https://serverlist-gujian.gfsrv.net/eu.json %command%
For NA: serverlist_url=https://serverlist-gujian.gfsrv.net/na.json %command%

If not for some character "shader?" glitches, I would not even have noticed that the game was running on Linux :)
Weird glitch with messed up character "shaders?". Looks as if the characters are covered with some weird glitchy grey or red textures sometimes.
The release version of the game as well as the launcher worked out of the box, no changes needed.
I'm using Proton Experimental.

With Proton experimental everything works including the launcher that has you select EU or NA.
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/4851
Every time there is an game update I had to rename the game executable (gujianol.exe) to the launcher's executable (SOLO_Launcher.exe). If you forget it, you'll get an ingame notice that you are using the wrong game version, change it and it works again.
One time modification, add the commandline argument:
For EU: serverlist_url=https://serverlist-gujian.gfsrv.net/eu.json %command%
For NA: serverlist_url=https://serverlist-gujian.gfsrv.net/na.json %command%
At the start I had stuttering gameplay, my guess is that it's the missing shader cache. After playing it for a while the stuttering disappeared.

Followed the steps as per the GitHub Issue to make it run:
Out of the box, the launcher shows a white window. To get around this, you'll need to rename the game executable (gujianol.exe) to the launcher's executable (SOLO_Launcher.exe).
Now the game will run, but it won't connect to any server. You have to add the server list as a launch parameter in Steam:
For EU:
serverlist_url=https://serverlist-gujian.gfsrv.net/eu.json %command%
For NA:
serverlist_url=https://serverlist-gujian.gfsrv.net/na.json %command%
(Note that my listed GPU is wrong. I'm not using my iGPU to play, but an RX580.)

Swords of Legends Online beta: It opens up to a white box.
I have tried all the main proton versions along with a common Launch Option to run without dxvk. Proton Versions tried: Proton Experimental Proton-6.8-GE-2 Proton-6.3-4 Proton-5.13-6 Proton-5.0-10 Proton-4.11-13 Proton-4.2-9 Proton-3.16-9 Proton-3.7-8 All get a white screen.
Launch commands tried: PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%

This report is for the BETA Version of this Game, It doesnt work unfortunately
When starting the Launcher you get only a blank white window, you can rename the Game executeable to the Launchername to launch the game but you will stuck in the Main Menu because the client doesnt find any server. It seems like the game requires a commandline argument to connect to the right server.
