Singleplayer works if you replace .exe with the cracked one, but you will not be able to play online spec-ops. multiplayer works out of the box.

played about 20 minutes of multiplayer so far, a few microstutters here and there, especially at start of match. but definitely quite playable

Unknown(< 15 minutes with Proton)*UPDATE only, i'm not reporting the SP working yet. but i am reporting on the attempts to make it work. the MP has NOT been touched since my previous report. since i'm posting a update, i've lowered the badge to indicate a lack of progress, but not bork the protondb rating for the MP section at least...
in summary. i've used winetricks to force a emulated desktop of 1600x900, tried changing every setting i could reach inside there. i've tried installing VARIOUS applications/extensions via winetricks. the entire directx catalog is currently installed. interestingly during my messing around, I broke rundll32 (vcruntime 2015 i think). but something installed much later fixed it. beyond that. i've installed anything i can reasonibly suspect or even less likely suspect of being the culprit. it's got to be something stupid, since the MP portion works fine.

okay, in summary the biggest issues are that SINGLE player executable does NOT start. that means the co-op is not accessable... the game can't be searched on protonDB (i had to enter another game's page then enter the 115300 appid to direct here manually) barring this, the game seems to operate perfectly ONCE you turn "sync every frame on". no esync toggle, or d3d trickery. that single player though is a big issue. i've not yet TESTED the game in any serious respect though. i've simply started private matches, ran around for a minute or two, destroyed a few cars/chickens. then exited and tampered with proton settings. eync seems to have MINOR performance gains on usb2.0 external Hdd loading. barring that. nothing.
remember, my system is running a "EXPERIMENTAL" feature for vulkan on the r9 270x chip. so any success i have, MAY indicate regressions in newer drivers. (but i doubt it) (i'm also a linux ametuer, mostly windows experience).

Installed MW3, did not edit any config files, started the Single Player version and the game just crashes aka steam shows I am in game and then shows I am not. And that is it
Runs in a constant laggy state and stutters (In game). Menu most of the time is all normal.
