Game sound is audible during time skip mode (It's muted on Windows)
Timetable window rendering with different font
As SnowyLynn reported, using the Proton TKG version 11342566553 the MFDs in the cab do actually work like intended.
This is the version I used: https://github.com/Frogging-Family/wine-tkg-git/actions/runs/11342566553

Using Proton Tkg 11342566553 everything works perfectly, including ZusiDisplay, which did not launch using Proton Experimental.

Spiel installiert und startet, Displays funktionieren aber nicht
Displays funktionieren nicht (zeigen schwarz). Dadurch wird das Spiel quasi unspielbar, weil die Displays mit der wichtigste Teil von ZUSI sind.

game crashes when exiting service
To get the MTD and Ebula to display in the cab, this Wine fix needs to be included: https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/merge_requests/5195
As that fix is presently not included in any Proton distributions, I compiled my own Proton version from the regular Proton source, but with the files changed in that Wine fix replaced.
Once the fix is included in regular Proton distributions, this will no longer be necessary.

PROTON_LOG=1 DOTNET_BUNDLE_EXTRACT_BASE_DIR="c:/users/steamuser/test" %command%
Game crashes when service is ended.
MTD and EBuLa do not display in cab (though can be viewed through ZusiDisplay). Apparently this is due to ZusiDisplay using a function not supported in Wine, and will be fixed with Wine 9.4.

ingame displays dont work!
incab displays still dont work! all dlls needed installed.. no luck.. still needs fix from valve or developer of "zusidispay"!!

Plays mostly normally
On high density Areas the Train moves like a Player with high latency in a Multiplayer game
After finishing a timetable you have to restart the game or find the timetable home directory if you want to switch the route.

ZusiDisplay (in-game cab screens) seem to work normally, which has been a significant problem in the past
Game crashed when the scenario finished

Runs out of the box.
No trouble with installing, starting and playing. I'd say it runs faster and smoother than under Win 11.
Zusi Display doesnt start/work!!!
I get an error message when I try to set up a controller
Runs pretty smoothly now and also Zusi display no longer makes trouble. Only the non-functioning controller support is a little pity.
ZusiDisplay nicht unterstützt und Startet nicht.. Da ich keine fehlermeldung und keine Logeinträge finden kann, bleibt es ein rätsel..
Displays (Bildschirme) in Fahrzeugen schwarz..
Nur ältere Displaylose Züge fahrbar weil ZusiDisplay nicht funktioniert.. jemand eine idee und hilfe für linux mint?? gerne kontaktieren.

Use Proton-TKG without wine-staging patches and install wine-mono and wine-gecko from your package manager! Also make sure to install dotnetcore-desktop 3.1 in x86 version into your prefix! Last but not least, to make the displays start, you need to manually install the SEGOE fonts into your prefix under C:\windows\fonts. Copy them from a Windows install or somewhere else.
Apart from the printed timetable in the extra window, everything works very well. Even displays work and the sound is not "hanging" anymore! :D
Have fun!

When loading the game world, an error appears and the game crashes.
Random errors appear every now and then even before loading into the game world.
Driving seems fine, ZusiDisplay doesn't work, taking a great part of the simulation out of it. Watch the German forums to check on updates.
Had very few stuckups, but don't know if they are caused by proton or natural occurrences even on Windows
Zusi Display will not work
("https://forum.zusi.de/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=10844") This is the post on the German forums talking about using Zusi under wine or proton.
