Despite the issues the game seems pretty enjoyable. I can see tweaks player side or improvements Steam side fixing this fairly easily.
Low frame rate. Delay in controller and keyboard input.
Wild Life as of time of writing is limited to the Demo. I imagine this will be a game worth getting, depending on price, once fully released.

MANGOHUD=1 PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command%
max 10FPS on mid settings 1080p, unusually high ram usage

Add PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command% in Launch Options within the Right Click > Properties in Steam.
Note: This may not be needed in future once Wild Life launches on Steam, for now I use the official Patreon builds.
I installed Realm of the Mad God and allowed steam to download all the requirements and Proton, launched it, closed it. Copy and pasted in Wild Life game data such as Engine Folder, WildLifeC, Manifest_NonUFSFiles_Win64.txt and WildLifeC.exe Re-named WildLifeC.exe to RotMG Exalt Launcher.exe and in Steam clicked Play on Realm of the Mad God which launches Wild Life (Proton).
Only one thing - the intro videos when launching the game do not play correctly not sure why this is exactly but not a big deal for playing at all as you can skip them and reach the main menu just fine.

Steam FPS Overlay: 50-60 | FPS Game Resolution: 2560x1440p | All Quality Preset: High NVIDIA X Server Settings: PowerMizer > Preferred Mode > Maximum Performance PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command% improved performance greatly, must do IMO, without it you will notice hitching and the odd stuttering.
My Background: I’ve been a Windows user for decades but recently I’m trialing Linux now that Proton exists and has matured more. Currently I’m using Kubuntu as my daily driver and games are an important part of that experience to get me off Windows. I went with Kubuntu for it being built on highly supported Ubuntu for compatibility/ease of use and big community for support.

With a beefy machine, this demo is probably playable.
On the lowest graphic settings and lowest resolution, the demo ran around 0-10 FPS
