Other than the slight mouse input lag, which I think won't be an issue with better hardware, this game runs perfectly with Proton.

Some mouse input lag, and possibly lower graphical performance. Although I didn't compare to native Windows.
Early Access, Playable
The game defaulted to "Epic" graphics options which resulted in ~30FPS performance on my system. Small stutters occur the first time you see something in game, which is probably shader caching in action.
An anti-cheat error appears when first starting the game, but I was able to continue playing online without difficulty.

I guess it works, but crashes and bugs beware (Early Access)
Crashed in the middle of a match with "Fatal error!"
Seemed like going back to main menu made the UI dissapear, had to restart the game
Did not expect for EAC to work but it did, although it displays at launch "Failed to create IGameClient instance" and "Online Play may not be available." Will play for longer and add more reports
