Multiplayer just works because of EAC integration from Respawn's side!
The first few minutes the game was stuttttering pretty badly due to building shadercache. Afterwards it's been a flawless experience.
Runs perfectly out of the box with Proton-GE, had to limit the game to 1 CPU core for two missions.
Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Wasn't able to tab out of the game at all with i3wm.
There are two missions in which the game crashes. afaik this happens on Windows as well. If you want to get past those missions you have to limit your game to one CPU core. I used taskset -c 0 %command% as a launch option in order to achieve this. I recommend removing the launch option after completing those missions in order to increase performance.
Works great out of the box with Proton 6.14-GE-2. However chat is constantly reconnecting but I never needed it do it doesn't matter.
Proton 6.14-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton 6.14-GE-2
I wasn't able to launch the game from an NTFS formatted drive, so make sure you install the game on an ext4 formatted drive. I also tried playing the game with Proton Experimental (as of 2021/07/23) but I experienced significant slowdowns.
%command% -vulkan
Online works as expected.
Proton 6.3-8-rc-1, Proton Experimental, Proton Experimental Bleeding Edge, Proton-6.21-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
With i3, Fullscreen doesn't work, with GNOME, everything is fine
Crashes during gameplay, seems to be a problem with Nvidia GPUs.
If anyone finds a fix for this problem, please send me a Steam friend request and tell me about it. Much appreciated :)
%command% -dx11
Frequent crashes, fixed by using %command% -dx11 as a launch option.
Works great on Steam Deck and Linux out of the box. Make sure to choose Vulkan when launching the game.
Couch coop works perfectly.

I played through the first half of the game on Windows 10, then I played through the second half with Proton Experimental (as of 2021/07/19). But for the ending cutscene I had to switch to Proton 6.12-GE-1 because there was one video which just wouldn't play with Proton Experimental.
Proton-6.19-GE-2 GloriousEggroll

Some artifacts in the background when opening the map or menus.
Sometimes crashed (Maybe a coincidence, but it only happened on Xorg, not on Wayland)
Works great with Proton 6.3-5, use Proton-GE if you want to watch the tutorial videos.
I tried using Proton-6.15-GE-2 as well (because I wanted to be able to watch the tutorial), but I wasn't able to connect to an online multiplayer match with Proton-GE.
As far as I can tell there is no Anti-Cheat so multiplayer works flawlessly with Proton 6.3-5.
