Sometimes when there are lots of effects being displayed during battles the game freezes for a few seconds. But this is very rare.
Most of the time the game runs really well. The occasional stuttering that happens when the game is streaming textures has also being reported by Windows users.
Same issues reported by others. You have to press the esc key for the game to actually load. When you try to switch from windowed mode to fullscreen it crashes. After that you are able to play the game and the performance is mostly ok at the maximum quality. The frame rate fluctuates a little more than desirable and near the end of the game there are severe drops in places that were reaching 60 fps before with no issues. And after the credits the game freezes.
Despite all of these problems it is still possible to enjoy the game.
60 fps in many places and around 40 fps in the badly optimized locations. It is not ideal but it is tolerable
Fullscreen works but switching from it directly to windowed has problems. It is better to first pass through borderless and then go to windowed
Sometimes the whole computer freezes
As long as mfplat is intalled to play tutorial videos and the ending video it is possible to get to the end of the game with no issue.
Occasionally the game freezes for a few seconds on startup
Tutorial videos and the ending video crash the game. I had to install mfplat to make them work
Most of the game videos do not work and the DLC Tengu's Disciple cannot be finished. For most people this will be a huge problem.
Videos do not work and the first mission of the DLC Tendu's Disciple cannot be finished. The Uminyudo boss fight does not load.
I enabled the ACO compiler in the RADV driver. This reduced the stuttering considerably
Stuttering when compiling shaders. Using ACO fixed it.
Having to skip a few cutscenes even after applying the media foundation tweak was annoying.
Installing media foundation help but the game still crashes randomly when a few types of cut scenes are played. I had to skip some of them to be able to go ahead in the game
Cut scenes make cause random crashes even with the media foundation tweak
The one I talked about before related to the cut scenes
Just like others have reported the intro video plays very slowly. But after following the procedure described at https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Evil_Within_2 to skip this video everything was fine. I played with decent frame rates at the highest possible quality.
