Works fine, some graphical issues in loading screens
Videos in loading screens don't work
More hiccups than on windows
Everything works fine except connecting to dedicated servers
Works flawlessly
Try reselecting the region if it doesn't connect correctly, works flawless after that
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 %command%
Did have major stuttering until I enabled vsync triple buffered in settings
Works perfectly! Respawn enabled EAC support
Make sure to use proton experimental on the bleeding edge branch
Sometimes there are huge frame drops, this isn't something that happened on windows
BattlEye is supported when using proton experimental
Reflections look pixelated on ultra (without RTX) and a tank top gun can have constantly shifting LOD
When launching into a new game the first minute is full of fps drops
To enable DLSS and RTX make sure to add VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 %command%
to your launch options
If you have more than 4 cores, add "taskset -c 0,2,4,6 %command%" to your launch options
Proton-7.0rc6-GE-1
You can play but you'll have to host yourself, your name will always be Player 1 and most of your progress isn't tracked. Perks don't work either
Seems to work fine as a native port
Sometimes the FPS could drop to 30 exactly, this was fixed by switching to the moon or mars
FPS seems to degrade slowly, I'm assuming its some type of memory leak. Windows users did also report this though so it might be a game issue
Multiplayer works totally fine, voice chat only works via proton
Use proton as native has bugs like, unable to change VRAM limit, voice chat not working, etc..
Proton-6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Sometimes falling through the floor due to some hitbox not being loaded, this only affects me and not friends playing on windows
Unable to connect
Is unable to connect to the internet, didn't have this issue before. I'm unaware of what changed. Tried 6.21-GE-2, 6.3.-8 and experimental
Works fine, sometimes crashes
Fullscreen didn't work, windowed borderless worked
DS4 gets not correctly detected
Crashes after a couple of seconds
Initially it may have been because of nvidia-drm.modeset=1 as an kernel parameter. Disabling this parameter allowed the game to open for a couple more seconds but still crashed afterwards
Proton 6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Doesn't launch with DirectX12, DirectX11 does work
Runs natively and works perfectly with proton for better mod support
Use proton to get better mod support
Early Access Day 1: Starts up but runs at 4fps
Unfortunately it seems there's something going wrong on the DXVK level. When trying the game I could view the initial menu and create a campagin. But it quickly dipped to 4fps once done loading. Which is sadly unplayable.
Trying the exact same thing in Windows resulted in a more smooth, although arguably unpolished experience.
Unless watching a powerpoint slideshow or playing with missing textures is your cup of tea, not really seriously playable
__GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATION=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 eval mangohud $( echo "%command%" | sed "s/PDLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe'.*/KSP2_x64.exe'/" )
WINED3D causes certain artifacts and visual bugs
More of an issue with KSP2 in general, but sometimes quicksave's wouldn't actually get saved
VRAM management isn't as great on Linux as it is on Windows. DXVK completely maxes out to 8GB/8GB used and is unplayable.
WINED3D uses less VRAM but is still around 15fps
On windows I get around 25-40fps
Logging in with paradox launcher is not possible, you get linked to an external browser, but callback doesn't work.
Works almost perfectly, has some issues with pipewire
Using pipewire-pulse 0.3.30 can sometimes cause some crackling
Unplayable as it crashes constantly
Crashes after an couple of seconds
Multiplayer works great on the publictest branch
Runs perfectly, has some minor issues with multiplayer
Multiplayer can be unstable at times, for example can kick the other player. But its a minor and uncommon issue
Sometimes the mouse wouldn't dissapear and you'd had to drag, this also may just be an bug with the game as its in very early access
DX11 has inconsistent frame timing, usually hovers around ~120 fps in the pre-game lobby. DX12 hovers around ~140 but can be inconsistent. Sometimes when launching the game in DX12 causes it to run around 10 fps
For some reason the first time launching the game would always occur in a crash. After running it again I wasn't able to reproduce the issue
Works good, some hiccups
Sudden fps drops, last about a second and then it goes back to normal
Proton-6.19-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Use experimental to get access to the vulkan api, which increases performance massively
Works like magic
Just click play, performance is even better than on windows although there is some screen tearing, but then again I don't use gsync
Limited to 40hz
Origin can be a pain sometimes, but can be resolved by killing the game
Steam cloud could bug out a bit sometimes, and so did origin, but never lost my save.
Proton-7.1-GE
Performance is around 10 fps lower than on windows 10
Since warfare 1 dlc its borked
Splashscreen pops up but crashes quickly after, using SpaceEngineersLinuxPatches doesn't work either
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 %command%
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 gamemoderun %command%
Audio cutscenes are unsynced on initial start, fixed by restart and setting pulse audio latency to 30
Online multiplayer refuses to connect, not alot of fun just playing against bots without friends
6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
