New Sort: Recently Improved

November 2, 2018

There's been a lot of activity here on ProtonDB the last week so I hope you'll excuse that I'm a bit belated in announcing that the Proton team's been busy too: a new 3.16-4 Beta version with fixes for games that rely on corefonts, Steamworks, and OpenVR among other improvements. We've currently recieved 161 reports from this new build, which relative to previous builds are looking strong, with 49% receiving platinum ratings.

This reminded me that ProtonDB could do more to highlight improvements that come with each release. Towards that end, I've added a new 'Recently Improved' algorithm to our sort options, and hope to build upon this to bring more dynamic content to other parts of the site. You can see the results now on the Explore page, where it's the new default sort. For now it takes into account reports made with 3.16-4 and 3.16-3 versions of Proton and is only available without other filters.

Hopefully this helps you discover games that previously worked less than stellar. And if you haven't yet, try out the new beta and let us know how it goes!
