The game as it was originally lunched has some problems running under steam with the videos now playing at all. A week later, and more then a few updates later the game is now fully playable on linux via Proton. No tinkering or extra options required.
If my original recommendation a week ago was "don't buy the game yet", today it has become a full blown endorsement... assuming you like Cyanide $ Happiness' humor of course. Works out of the box, install and enjoy.
Video's not playing, since this is a story driven game don't buy it - yet?
Game doesn't work with Proton, requires Proton Experimental branch. It get's stuck at the initial loading screen.
Beyond the game not working with the current stable branch of proton the videos don't work at all. Since this game is story driven and the videos are part of said story I do not recommend linux users buy it at present. You will not experience the game the developers intended but a diminished version of the game play.
Works great with GE Proton. Not with default (doesn't even launch) or Experimental (videos are skipped).
