So I formatted my external hard to ext4 (linux filesystem) and I can play off of that so it fixes that problem. Though I have heard that you can play off of one that's used for windows and linux (NTFS).
Thanks to Carnage's workaround, game worked great!
For some reason, when I try to download the game onto my external hard drive and play it off of that, the game doesn't want to launch, so I just downloaded it on my main one and it works great.

Works mostly perfect aside from some characters not looking right in the menus, videos play fine if you use the workaround mentioned
In order to get videos to work, you need to run protontricks 822760 quartz devenum
and then protontricks 822760 winecfg
. Once winecfg opens, go to Libraries and add winegstreamer
as disabled
Some text was not displayed properly in the menus and the game. This is not a problem for the game as you can change the font used in the settings, but for the menus I have yet to find a solution

The default font is missing a musical note character (shows as a square), this can be changed in the config menu to something else, eg Deja Vu Sans. Other than that, no issues in the first hour or so.
