In the install directory's options.ini
file, changing the line AlternateSyncMethod=1
to AlternateSyncMethod=0
reduced resource consumption on Proton by about 80%.
The native build features a busy loop consuming one CPU core for frame syncing, in addition to greedy resource consumption in other threads. Using Proton works around this.
