Game doesn't launch after install, tried proton versions from 8 upwards to experimental.
Bad

Not Working With ProtonDB

I have also tried running this game using the experimental proton compatibility and without game launch options. I have only managed to reach the launch option, the game crashes immediately after I click play, I am not sure where the logs for this game would be stored, they are not with the game's files.
Alternatively for those who are also having problems and would like a possible solution, I have gotten this game to work using Bottles with a 32-bit architecture, Windows XP OS, and installing the dotnet462 framework.
Background music stops instead of playing in a loop
- At launch you have to choose between "Play The 4th Coming" or "Play T4C - Dialsoft Servers". It is not very clear, the first option sends to a German server. For the server on which I play (Neerya) you have to choose the second option.
- The update fails to replace t4c.exe. From the file browser you have to copy the file "t4c.exe" from .steam/steam/steamapps/common/D4O/International/Game/Download to .steam/steam/steamapps/common/D4O/International/Game (replace the old version). Then restart the game in Steam and everything works.
- Impossible to launch t4cconfig.exe from Steam, to change the language for example.

Please note: The installation script does not finish. You have to make a copy of the installation folder before quitting the script otherwise you will lose the files (even if you unselect the delete files option). You can add the game afterwards by selecting the executable "t4c.exe" in the folder that you took care to copy and everything works perfectly. (Lutris 0.5.9.1 on Ubuntu 20.04.1)

Looks like everything works out of the box. First time ever this plays on Linux. So many memories...
