Does not boot.
Install d3dx9 via protontricks, as well as dxvk.
The game just refuses to boot past a black screen. I've tried troubleshooting it for days, including reading guides both posted on the game's Steam page & the other review for this game here on ProtonDB, but I just could not get the game to run, including the "Earth's Awakening" version of the game.
Sad to say that this game just does not work. Regardless of Proton version, regardless of what fix you use. The main issue here I think is the old as sin version of PhysX that the game requires.
Quite bummed, really wanted to revisit a childhood game of mine.
Game will crash on bootup trying to create D3D9 effects. Use protontricks to install d3dx9
1.I forced compatibility to proton7.0 2.Run game and install physx prerequisite (It will crash as it creates a window) 3. protontricks 4420 d3dx9 4. Run game and it should start up fine now
I was averaging 70 fps in the little bit I played but it dropped to 50 at some points.
Requires windows XP lullypops.
Working on a a workaround to get playing, launches into game then crashes.
UnknownI'm seeing plenty of links suggesting it requires an old version of PhysX to be installed. I don't know where to begin with that on Proton.
