Hadn't played it in years and thought I'd give it a go, played just like I remember and would recommend to Linux gamers, pretty fun game...
As others have noted, I was only able to enter my player name at the beginning after selecting and deleting the placeholder text.

Doesn't start
Shows only an unresponsive black screen

All seems to work fine, after a crash at the first startup. We can't change keyboard shortcut. The game is in qwerty, if you need an auto switch to something like azerty: right click on the game -> Properties -> STARTUP -> setxkbmap us && %command% && setxkbmap fr You need to change fr to your xkb layout, here it's for french keyboard.

Had no problems with entering my name, the game ran perfectly out of the box.

The game runs without problems under Proton.

It is possible to enter in a name, just highlight the existing text and delete it. The game runs ok overall but their are some minor graphical glitches that are annoying.

The game does not accept any keypresses. At the very start you have to enter your name. You can't do anything unless you write something, which you can't. Mouse clicks work fine, though.
