It works with the out of the box settings
I intalled the game when it was given as a freebie because of the launch of the remake. There was no proton rutine that worked. I was following the thread in https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/8553 and recently I gave it one more try. I reverted all the setting to the default and stopped forcing a particular version of proton. It worked flawlessly (cinematics, audio, controls, saving, etc) during all the time I was testing it (90 minutes)

Could not get past black screen for intro video
Tried multipule versions of proton, new and old.
Tried older protons as suggested and did not work for me.
Changed left track pad to act as a mouse with added sensitivity
Report for the GOG offline installer version on Steam Deck:
- Add to Steam the 2.1.0.10 setup.exe / install the game with Proton 7.0-5
- Play the game in game mode with Proton-6.5-GE-2

There are 2 issues with the game:

Lowered right analog stick mouse sensitivity to 150.
Very light on resources. TDP: 3 Watts. GPU Frequency: 200. Scaling Filter: FSR5.
Launching with the default Proton version, a user will not be able to interact with the main menu to start the game. After switching to an older Proton, 6.3-8, the game and all cinematics function as intended.
You may wish to lower the mouse sensitivity if you are using the analog sticks as the mouse. 150 sensitivity seems to balance properly between quickness and precision.

Clique souris ne fonctionne pas
Il faut utiliser Protontricks (protontricks -c "winecfg" 302190) pour paramétrer un bureau virtuel (1024x768) et une compatibilité Windows XP. Ceci afin de pouvoir visualiser les vidéo. Les cliques souris ne fonctionne pas. Utiliser la touche entré en lieu et place.
All important video sequences are black.
All video sequences are "black" (or menu keeps displayed instead of video sequence, it looks like frozen until video sequence ends up).
Video problem + "New game" can't be started
Video sequences are black (codec issue ?), when I click NEW GAME the menu remains displayed, but the cursor/game freezes.
