The previous fix submitted using the exec find on https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jSpQ64c9gy8QEKZiUe9xzIOBBQA3SUko/view?usp=sharing has been able to play the game without any issue, personally didn't work first try, what you need to do it that's happend will need to restart you pc then try and will be able to open up after that "updating executable" thing appear, not further actions are needed the game just open up and runs as supossed to.

Installed GOG version via Heroic Launcher in desktop mode. Added it to steam, rebooted in gaming mode and launched the game.
At this point a dialog opened up and said that the selected version of proton could not be found. It ask if proton experimental should be used. I choose yes- this could have been user error because I haven't used heroic in a while and probably need to update.
Anyway, the GOG version launches and is playable.

As i mentioned previously, first of all happy new year!!! second, this game can be launch using the native Flatpak Steam is able to launch the game Steam Linux runtime (native Linux version of the game) but it is MANDATORY to run it with the FLATPAK VERSION OF STEAM since the original/pre-installed version of steam doesn't recognize the launcher a compatible executable of Steam-OS as .sh (.sh being a Native linux executable as AppImage for example) and the system by default it is not-readable the system can't synchronize dependencies between the OS (Steam-OS) and the Game on files, Flatpak version runs at what it looks like at any type of distributions so automatically switches to FLATPAK dependencies instead of In-System dependencies, as i mentioned you previously i hope this resolutions could solve potentials interferences when you try to play more steam decks games on the future :D

As the save files are on %appdata% on windows, when you use this fix you won't be able to cloudsave because nonsteamsaintsrow will have a diffrent proton folder unless you manually add a schorcut path or what is it called in linux.
ExaKel's way to use gog version is working. You don't need to use a whole gog instalation process because all steam files are okay except the .exe for some reason. The only thing you need it to run is main .exe and galaxy.dll. Then if you add it to a game folder and add it as a non steam game and select proton - it works.
Do not replace the oryginal exe and do not run the steam game version - it won't launch anyway but may replace exe back to this witch not working.
oh and ofcourse in this method say godbye to achivments :') BUT IT RUNS!

Like others experienced, the game won't even start. Tried with stock Proton, GE Proton, Proton versions from 3.x to 9.x, etc.

Lowered TDP to 10W.
I used GOG's backup installer and installed via Lutris and then added it as a non-steam game. it loads and runs fine.
Same issue as I mentioned in my last report from my Desktop. Native crashes after launch video, Steam refuses to launch the Proton version
Tried default, multiple proton versions + experimental, and multiple GE proton versions. Nothing I have tried has been successful in even running the game.
