Not sure why only I have this problem, but it doesn't work with Proton 9.

Runs 60 on performance mode, drops on certain sections with lots of effects (Part in farm chapter with the explosive barrels, certain cutscenes, pacman level) though not to unplayable levels.
Oled. 60hz cap, allow tearing, vsync off ingame, performance mode in graphics option. Massive improvement compared to launch. Encountered a bug on a certain sidescroller section where failing a QTE makes juliette stuck, requiring to restart the level. Can be fixed with ingame auto-qte. No need for -dx11 launch command atleast on my end.

On my AMD system, I had to specifically select Proton 9.0-2. Otherwise I got an Fatal Error message.

gamemoderun %command%
Forgot to update system specs in previous report. This isn't really a tinker report. The command line arguments are just there to enable gamemode.

gamemoderun __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia %command%
This is not a tinker report. The command line parameters are there to select my NVIDIA GPU. That's all.

No issues whatsoever

changed the following lines inside /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2658450/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/lollipop/Saved/Config/Windows/GameUserSettings.ini
:
sg.ViewDistanceQuality=1
sg.AntiAliasingQuality=1
sg.ShadowQuality=2
sg.GlobalIlluminationQuality=0
sg.ReflectionQuality=1
sg.PostProcessQuality=1
sg.TextureQuality=1
sg.EffectsQuality=0
sg.FoliageQuality=1
sg.ShadingQuality=1
setting shadow to lower than 2 will make juliet herself without one. global illumination from 1 to 0 gives an extra 1 fps, effects from 1 to 0 gives +4 fps. everything else makes no frame rate difference below 1.
45 fps lock
the game has no in-menu graphical settings as of today (2024-09-14), with the default .ini settings it runs below 30 fps so it's unplayable in my opinion

-d3d11
Open GameUserSettings.ini and change everything in [ScalabilityGroups] accordingly. I set everything but textures and shadows to 1. Those two I set to 2. In-game, I changed the resolution to 480p, set TDP to 9, and FSR to max. Game gives me a solid 60 fps and looks no different than 720p.
TDP 9
Without modifying the .ini file, performance is very bad.

Worked 100% out of the box.

DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="AMD Radeon RX 7700S (RADV NAVI33)" DRI_PRIME=1 gamemoderun %command%
My computer uses 2 videocards and iGPU was rendering the game by default. Had to specify DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME on my dGPU to force it.
If your computer have a single iGPU (APU) with at least 4GB VRAM or single dGPU, you shouldn't have any issues playing this game.
If you have multiple GPU, then I would recommend to use DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME and specify your desired GPU id according to vulkaninfo.

If I can't get a stable framerate throughout on a beefy pc. I can't imagine the average linux gamer's pc being able to play this game
I don't have a windows pc to test so this may not be linux specific. There were some areas where there was a large explosion but didn't make a "boom" sound. just misc vehicle crashing sounds The majority of audio is playing fine though
Given I'm on the second fastest GPU on the market and the fastest gaming cpu, I'd expect this to play 144fps 4k pretty easily. It almost never went past 60fps and had lows as low as 15fps in some cutscenes. I know it's not being frame limited to 60 since there were brief spikes to 80fps GPU was at 100% utilization and CPU never really went past 15% total utilization (~2.4 cores)

2 chapters in, Repop in it's current state, is a fun experience but it's missing optimization and will get 30 FPS max during gameplay.
Latest version
I would say during gameplay this is less noticeable, but during the initial sequence there was a tone of artifacts and slow texture. I would blame it more on the side of the game been badly optimised.
Considerable slowdown after beginning the story (4 to 8 FPS) during the bike scene until you are able to control Juliette. Subsequent video are fine. Games runs at 27-28 FPS constant with 60fps in menus.
Only for the FPS but no crashes.
Optimization issue seems to be the main down point here. The game does not run very smoothly and doesn't have any options to modify graphic settings which in 2024 is insane. I tried running the game in lowered resolution and other Protons but nothing sadly made the experience better.
That being said 2 chapters in, the game is still very fun and at least to my experience less buggy than the ps3 emulated version. For 1hours of gameplay it drained around 40% of my LCD battery but lowering the FPS manually might make the instability between menu and gameplay more bearable for the batterie.
Maybe wait 1-2 weeks before jumping on the ship but I will leave this has a recommended for now just because it is playable and still fun. I will update this review down the line after a few more hours in.
Some moments when doing multi kills, there is an animation that plays, when gameplay comes back, there's some audio desync but quickly gets back to normal. I do not know if this also happens on Windows. Does not ruin the feel of the game.

on default runs 10-20 fps, lowered the resolution all the way down for steady 30fps
to get steady 60fps Changed it to the following and saved:
[ScalabilityGroups] sg.ResolutionQuality=100 sg.ViewDistanceQuality=1 sg.AntiAliasingQuality=1 sg.ShadowQuality=1 sg.GlobalIlluminationQuality=1 sg.ReflectionQuality=1 sg.PostProcessQuality=1 sg.TextureQuality=1 sg.EffectsQuality=1 sg.FoliageQuality=1 sg.ShadingQuality=1

Slow down during opening cut scene. Played normal at 24-30 FPS after
Everything seemed fine when playing on steam deck. The opening cut scene for some reason did drop down to single digit FPS, but then went up to a playable 24 to 30 FPS during gameplay.

Runs flawlessly under a Linux-based operating system.
- Using the Xbox Wireless Controller for input works perfectly, with full force feedback (vibration) support;
- Cut scenes are flawless;
- Video and audio has no issues, nor does the menu;
- Gameplay was smooth with no obvious bugs or performance impact.
I played the "prologue" level under both "original" and "RePop" modes, for my testing.

Fullscreen option in the menu is a blank and there's no way of telling if you swapped between windowed or FS
-Performance during the opening section is rough. The first cutscene drops the game to 10 fps due to rendering all the zombies.
-Framerate during the opening mission tanks to about 29ish at the lowest resolution on open areas with an average of somewhere around 40 fps during closed off sections. The GPU is maxed at around 99% hovering at around 1500mhz+ clock with no way to turn down graphics other than resolution.
-second mission can hit about 60 fps on the lowest possible resolution on the first area, didn't bother to go further.
Performance is very rough on steam deck oled, On the menus it's maxing out at 90 fps but as soon as you enter the game framerate is all over the place with no way to turn down any graphic settings other than resolution. The performance is similar in both GE and official valve proton. Experimental just causes the game to be stuck on a black screen at launch.
