The game doesn't seem to have a good UI setup for the index by defualt, requires reconfiguring but using the VR controllers is a bit of a mess so I suggest using an xbox controller. Also on the index I couldn't get doors to open, it seems to be A on xbox so I just used the controller when I needed doors to open. That was the only time there wasn't a good control for the index, running, jumping and shooting all work fine.
