When using normal Proton 9 or 10, the keyboard shortcuts don't work correctly. If you are on Nvidia or X11, this can be solved by going back to Proton 8. If on AMD, I have found success with the new wayland driver with Proton-GE, although the Proton 8 fix also works if you don't want to try this new driver out.

My main pc died, so I decided to continue my game with a poor pc, is a low end pc of the year 2014, I loaded +60 leagues. i can play nice.

flickering of the display when loading some interfaces for the first time
when doing ALT+TAB the game no longer responds to the keyboard, the solution is to select with the mouse the browser, click outside of it and then do CTRL+P, a print option will appear, you only need to close with ESC and the keyboard will work, if it doesn't work try to do ALT+TAB before the previous steps.
In case your pc does not have the minimum Vulkan version, you can run the game with OpenGL and it will work fine, in a low-end pc of 2014 with +60 leagues the computer responds well and does not crashes, you can play without problems on any computer no matter how modest it is.
picture in picture from browser is covered by game in fullscreen mode but in window mode everything is fine

The keyboard bug does not persist when using the command above, apart from that I did not have any issues with the game. Skins, face-packs, custom dbs etc. can be installed by accessing the wine C-drive which corresponds to the windows C-drive and there you can find the SI-folder: ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2252570/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents Also, I usually play with pretty big dbs (usually at least 125k players) and it works pretty fine, although I never played it on windows and I have a new gen CPU.

it start, the mouse chage, I can click in something, but is just a black screen, other proton verrsions blink the black screen and close the game
Works the same as on Windows.
When typing in a text box some times the text will not register. Clicking off and then back onto the text box resolves the issue.
FM2024 runs the same on Linux as it does on my windows machine after many many hours!

Minor issue with detecing keyboard hotkeys (IE spacebar to advance game or pause) but a totally minor bug.
Keyboard isn't captured on alt+tab out.
Game runs well, but similar to past editions, you have to go into winecfg > graphics > "emulate a virtual desktop" with the dimensions matching your native resolution. If you don't do this, the keyboard won't be captured whenever you tab out.
Unfortunately, the latest Wine-GE fails to start entirely when you have this option ticked. Running the latest Proton-GE update allows you to make this simple tweak.
The only minor issue I've had is it being slow on initial load (HDD, ~3-5mins).
Keyboard would ocasionally not work. After switching to old proton version it works perfectly.
Switch to Proton 8.0-5 and the game will run perfectly.

Have tried the three latest proton versions, starting with experimental, and nothing works. its a completely clean install of ubuntu im running it on.
Sometimes typing requires you to unfocus and refocus on the input field.

Runs out of the Box with Proton-GE because I mostly use that Version of Proton.
Text is small in many screens
Game runs as expected using Proton Experimental (which is set as my Default) loads at expected speeds and the new 3D match engine works as expected. Shader Cache took about 5 seconds on first boot.
I also could import FM23 games succesfully.
Great default out of the box experience.
You may need to tinker with the proton version, from my experience its similar to other FM's which have certain issues on different versions of proton such as experimental (keyboard doesn't work), by switching to 8.0.2 or 8.0-4 the keyboard still works fine.
