Enjoyable Game. I played with Epic Settings on 4k until the Game was finished. Controller worked as well.
The Game crashed unexpecticly about 3 times. Maybe UE5 Issue

Very minor mouse issues, otherwise perfect
Mouse in the menu is a little sketchy, but that's harmless and you can just use the arrow keys. Actual gameplay was basically flawless.

In the previous versions of Proton and GE-Proton the in-game videos weren't displaying for me. But with the latest GE-Proton (9-20) everything worked flawlessly.

Mouse sensitivity seems high, even when turned all the way down in game settings
In-game videos work when using GE-Proton9-18 and apparently they are important for the plot. Installing mf into a GE-Proton prefix breaks in-game videos again, and I couldn't get them to work in a native Proton prefix.

I've had to use the b-fission/vn_winestuff script installation (followed (this guide)[https://www.visualnovelwiki.org/en/linux/special-codec]) suggested by a comment bellow. After that, the in-game videos are shown properly.
Some of the videos were missing before installing the fix.

I didn't do any tinkering and the game just runs perfectly fine.

In-game videos don't play
I tried installing MediaFoundation to the Steam Prefix using the mentioned scripts, but even after that videos in the game don't play. I think those videos are important for understanding a lot of the story in the game.

In-game videos won't play, but some are required to fully understand the plot. Installing "mf" as suggested below didn't help, though I could've done it wrong. The files were actually already in the game's Wine prefix. I overwrote them to no avail. But everything else works great.

Basically, the game runs perfectly, but there is the problem that the videos that are displayed directly in the game have no picture.
Media Feature Pack
Missing Videos
This is because you need the Windows Media Feature Pack. This can be solved by installing “mf” from the Github archive of b-fission/vn_winestuff in the corresponding prefix. Then the videos will run without problems.

Excellent
Occasional and very minor hitching
Some videos that are meant to play on the in-game screens are missing, had to use a youtube walkthrough at one point to see a major plotpoint from one.

Works with Proton 9.0-2
The only problem i noticed is that 2 in game moveis (on a in game screen) did not dispaly and the end credits sceen does not display for me. But game is fully enjoyable without it.
runs ok on medium with performance upscaling, often drops to 20fps. you could do better with tweaking, but it's enjoyable like this anyway.

"It just works" - Todd Howard

lower resolution, used game upscalling, used FSR 1.0
Small text, haven't tested
Lower resolution, use upscaling and you can get 30 fps on the game. It's not action intensive.

It's playable, but pretty buggy.
Scrolling in textboxes is sketchy, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
The game stopped responding the first time I started it up. On the second try I was able to start playing. However after I finished the first case the game crashed while in the loading screen, crashing the gpu driver as well.
The main menu is bugged if you tab out of the game while it's starting up. You won't be able to press any buttons unless you restart the game.
Wait for fixes for the problems, I can't recommend it at this point, although I like the game so far.
In the prologue no film was shown on the screen (Drive-in Cinema Scene)

I'm thrilled, the Spoiel is cool and I just bought it and tried to see if it runs on Linux:D the days I'm also testing it on Fedora 40.
is a film shown on the screen in the prologue of the game? If so, it's the only error I've been able to find/see so far. Because I haven't been able to see a movie on the screen. (I don't have Windows anymore)

Shockingly Good with Proton on Day 1
Works amazingly on first launch. No issues with launching or playing.

Buy - download - start - Have Fun!
No Problems whatsoever, not needed to pick any Proton Version, it just works!
