Not proton specific, but game can crash when loading saves. Developer published a fix on their website that is now removed but can still be found on wayback machine Just replace that file and the game will load

I could not find the DLC cave. Don't know if that's a proton issue or if I'm just blind

Used a cracked executable, as it is the CEG DRM that makes this crash

Attempted to get both this and the original DeathSpank working. Both show similar logs (nearly empty), presumably both have the same issue. If you can get a 32-bit prefix set up, it -might- work, but that's still a maybe.
