Game started without any issues. I was able to start a multiplayer game without any issues!

Works flawlessly.
Works out of the box (Retribution 1.0 Update)

Works perfectly out of the box
Works perfectly out of the box, I played previously on Windows 11 and had the same performances.

Tried Experimental, GE, Hotfix, and 9-1. They broke it again
So close yet so far, this game will be perpetually unplayable

some times i would need to switch screens in sway wm to make game interactive

Be extremely cautious of this game. It previously worked on Linux only to have the ability to play revoked for over a year with the developers refusing to resolve the matter stating that they "do not supprot Linux at this time." Community members using Linux pleaded that we did not want official support, only for Linux players be enabled to play via Proton through EasyAntiCheat, but it fell on deaf ears. It seems this may be an incidental fix, and that the devs didn't specifically opt into Linux support. As such it's entirely possible that the ability to play could be removed yet again, so purchase at your own peril!

After major update Guilds 1.0 on december 14th they enabled EAC again, linux support is still "in the future" so if you were thinking about buying it, don't, they broke it and left it like that for almost a year, and it might break again.

Runs again after the Guilds 1.0 update. Launched, went to menu and ran one mission without issue.
Tested at the behest of a Marauders Official Discord Server member comment in the proton support thread due to a lack of recent reports. I mentioned there that the game appears to run, and was warned by a mod that EAC may flag me for "use of unauthorized software that could potentially provide an in-game advantage." I recommend caution until official support is announced, but it looks like EAC has enabled proton support, finally.
Launches but EAC is not enabled msg appears

Warning: Easy Anti-Cheat Disabled
Tried both GE and non GE versions, but it seems like it's just borked for linux.

Main screen says: "Please close the game and make sure Easy Anti-Cheat is running to continue."

Game starts, but EAC issue appears
Game starts, in menu says start EAC service to continue. So EAC doesn't work here
EAC Error
Loading screen appeared for a few seconds, then closed itself without finishing
DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun %command%

Game states EAC not running, and won't allow you to continue past the launch screen.
gamemoderun %command%
EAC runtime is installed and other Steam EAC games work (such as Hunt:Showdown) however Marauders does not support EAC on Linux at this time.
Tried with Proton 8.0-1, Experimental and 7.0-6

EAC error or crash depending upon Proton version selection in Steam
Proton 8.0-1 D3D11 error, Proton 7.0-6 launches but EAC error occurs, Proton 6.3-8 launches but crashes, did not attempt earlier versions. Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS as of 4/19/23
Easy anti-cheat fails to fully launch. Opens and immediately closes. Main menu states "WARNING: Easy Anti-Cheat Disabled."
The Easy Anti-Cheat runtimes were recently added to Steam which provides the ability other games like Hunt Showdown to now be playable. Unsure why Marauders is not playable.
team17 rolled out Denuvo support today, killing Linux and Steam Deck support dead (and possibly forever)
aight then.
I revisted the game after a couple months and now Easy Anti Cheat no longer works and I can't play it anymore.
They disabled EAC support for Linux
The game, sadly, no longer works.
EAC No longer works.

December update modified the EAC implementation which broke linux compatibility.
EAC (anti-cheat) is still busted with December update, unable to play
Used to work - broken since Health update
The updated EAC support in this game means that I get stuck on the main menu with an error saying that "EAC is not running".
November update has made it so that EAC does not work at all on Linux.

Used to work fine, now it doesn't. Shame on these developers, they don't deserve anyone's money for any future endeavors if this is what they do to paying customers.
devs have shown zero interest in allowing linux support even though game ran perfectly before improving anti cheat causing issues with eac

The game is broken on Linux
Anti-Cheat Updates Strike Again
Sadly, the game previously ran better than on Windows, but the recent Health update includened a "Hardened" version of Easy Anti Cheat, which no longer functions on Linux. This may eventually get fixed, but I'm not holding my breath.
It was fun while it lasted.

The launch flag is only there to skip the intro.
The game ran just fine before the "Health" update. As I quote from the patch notes: "Reinforced Anti-Cheat"
Who knows what that really means. All I know now is that the game won't let me login because it thinks EAC isn't started or running in the background. Hopefully a fix will come later down the line in one form or another.
The HEALTH update (Nov 10th) Breaks the game for linux users
80 hours I had no problems playing online (fundamental to this game)... They "hardened" EAC with their last update and now the game is broken on Linux.
It worked Prior to the Health update, but now doesn't work.
Attempted to use wine to launch the EAC setup file in the game files.
Game starts, but after initial intro movie, it shows "Easy Anti Cheat Disabled". All attempted methods to enable EAC failed.
Game played flawlessly until the Health Update, which added "hardening" to the EAC runtime for the game. Now unplayable as of 10/10/22
EAC now fails to enable/validate, leaving you stuck on the splash screen.
Nov 10 update - Easy Anti Cheat issues
Unable to play game after nov 10th update, WARNING: EASY ANTI CHEAT DISABLED
Game ran fine previously, now I am blocked by "WARNING: EASY ANTI CHEAT DISABLED"

Emailed their support regarding the issue, recieved the following directly: "Unfortunately, Linux is not a supported platform for this game. We recommend checking the system requirements on Steam before purchasing any games."
Used to work perfectly prior to the Health update
Does not launch anymore due to EAC not running.
Crashed anytime it was running for a bit, only fixed after locking resolution to 1080 and capping FPS at 60. proton 7 or GE seemed to be fine once this was done
Once previous hard crashing was fixed, game just plays like its meant to
Very fun game and runs like a dream now
Won't launch at all now on any version of Proton.
