All the text is very small, especially when playing on TV
Played nearly 20 hours so far in co-op docked to a TV. Works like a charm but the UI is a bit too small for readability.
Multiplayer disconnects twice in 10 hours of play (Maybe not specific to SD)
pre-game menu was quite small and all text was difficult to read
On the Steam Deck, creating a profile freezes the game. Switch to desktop mode and launch the game to create a profile.
Launch game from desktop mode to create profile
Might need to attach a USB keyboard while in desktop mode. After profile has been created, game can be played like normal
Was able to launch into the game and select singleplayer. But creating a profile locks the game in an eternal load screen.
Freezes indefinitely after typing in name when creating a new profile. Have to close the game to exit out. Tried singleplayer/multiplayer, but both freeze.
Tried default (without compatibility), GE-Proton 7-43, Proton Experiment, single player mode, multiplayer mode The game gets stuck every time after sending a new profile. It'll back to the main page, but has no menu And it doesn't respond to any buttons
Lots of small text and symbols for the different appliances.
Some text is hard to read, small images can be had to disinguish as well
Originally, the controller was recognised as a second input, not the primary input
It runs very well, smooth play, same experience as on windows just has the low resolution issues on the Deck.
I used these settings to optimize for performance and battery life:
- FPS Limit: 30
- Refresh Rate: 60hz
- Half Rate Shaders: On
- TDP Limit: 5 watts
- Manual GPU Clock: 600Mhz
- Scaling Factor: Linear
With these settings, it runs a smooth 30FPS continuously the GPU runs at just about 100% constantly. I achieved about 1 hour of gameplay with 15% battery
The Recipies in the main home area are tough to read at times, so you'll have to go off of the images mainly. Which isn't terribly difficult.
The blueprints on the floor between days are difficult to read, or impossible at times. You can still move next to it to see what it is when you don't know the graphic for the given itme. This doesn't break playability, it is just mildly annoying.
At the end of the level, when you've lost in my case, some of the cards are difficult to read, but you don't need to read them at that stage.
Despite the issues with reading blueprints whilst on the floor or cards at the end, the game is very playable and a smooth experience. This games is a great pick up and play a round or two when you can.
The game runs as well in Linux on the Deck as it does on my Windows 11 laptop. Flawless support.
These setting I found best for smooth play and long battery life.
- FPS Cap: 30
- Refresh Rate: 60Hz
- Half Rate Shading: yes
- TDP Limit: 5 watts
- GPU Clock limit: 500Mhz
- Scaling Factor: Linear
