Native version has resolution issues and I can't click the "Start new game" button with the touchpad (it's a point and click game)

As said above, there are issues on the Steam Deck with the Linux Native version. Switching to Proton version with Proton-GE 8.4 worked flawlessly without further tinkering and resolved the issue. Other proton versions official or unofficial not tested but I assume they work too.
