Base game works as intended. For mods to work properly, you must add "WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version=n,b" %command%" to your steam launch options for this game, in order for the MelonLoader to run and load your mods
Works out of the box
The game seams to process something in the background every time you load a savegame. That causes stuffers that will disappear after a few seconds.
If you locale lang isn't already Chinese Wine/Proton can't read the folder path to the game since it contains Chinese characters.
Fix: Adding zh_CN.utf8 to your locale, and adding this to Steam launch arguments LANG=zh_CN.utf8 %command% made it run for me
