I've spent all day looking at openVCface scripts and sketchy workarounds and this is the ONLY vtuber program to just find my camera and model without any workarounds. This program should be the first hit when you search vtubing linux.
I spent a week looking for a way to vtube with hacks and scripts that required troubleshooting and this literally exist and works. WHy
use this instead of wasting your time.
After having made my model using Live2D on Wine, with art made with Krita, I managed to load it into the software without any issues, and my webcam was detected right away with no further configuration needed. Now I can be a cute furry fox AND use Linux; but you could be a cute anime girl if you want to. Very high tier.
Just note that window capture on OBS on windows managers (bspwm) is pretty bugged; so I had to switch to Cinnamon for it to work. But that's not an issue with prprlive itself!
You can literally be a vtuber in Linux
Works perfectly and detects the webcam out of the box, face tracking also works
After the window appeared, it shows an error message: CreateSharedDX11Texture : QueryInterface error
running the app out of the box causes an error that says you need to have DirectX 11 installed, so I use the following command:
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Literally the ONLY option for Live2D Vtubers on Linux. I am not exaggerating, it is the ONLY one that works.
DLC Tracking cannot detect webcam, standard tracking works.
