Mods don't work by default. But if you move your Ready or not installation to compatdata/1144200/pfx/drive_c/Ready Or Not and symlink back to steamapps/common/Ready Or Not It magically works...No Idea why.

Mod.io fails to initalize. Was able to get working folowing this guide for Garrys Mod https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/2848#issuecomment-1384818821

Sometimes launches to a black screen and will stop responding from there.

Don't know this is proton related or the general performance is not the best

Initial setup requires installing UE components. This caused a black screen at first, but worked out alright when I launched it a second time. You might need the touch screen or setting up cursor and mouse click controls to get through this.
Although you can adjust the interface and text size, it doesn't account for all interface and text. Some text is difficult to reach despite these settings.
I started a fresh save on my Steam Deck. Upon swapping to my PC the next day, progress seemed a bit confused. I swaped between my PC and the Deck throughout the day and cloud saves seem to be working properly.
Some maps can be very demanding. I have the graphics preset set to low and FPS locked to 30 and 'twisted nerve' still dropped occasionally. Not unplayable, but drops do happen.
It actually looks quite decent on the Deck with the lowest graphics preset. You can play it at 45 FPS if you need smooth gameplay, but I found 30 FPS to be more consistent and overall playable once I got used to it (took me a minute or two).
I didn't try multiplayer, but I hear it's pretty much unplayable. ProtonDB didn't give me the option to comment on that for whatever reason. Perfectly playable with the AI teammates, however, who are surprisingly competent.

I got way better performance by launching the DirectX 12 version.
Works perfectly well out of the box. Very minor performance drop compared to windows

LD_PRELOAD="/usr/lib/libgamemodeauto.so.0" gamemoderun %command%
Some resolutions are not supported (e.g. 1080x1920) you therefore cannot eccess settings.
Use LD_PRELOAD, if stuttering appears after time.
No performace decrease after I swaped to linux, even on arch.
Game works perfectly out of the box.

Obviously mileage may vary; however, the game performs good enough under this configuration with little to no troubleshooting.

If you encounter issues, its likely an enviroment issue rather than the game itself.

Ready or not does NOT launch at all with an arc GPU
RoN does not launch with any launch option on arc. Dx12 will tell you that you dont have Dx12 support. Dx11 will instantly crash.

Game doesn't even run
Used to run ok, but now the game doesn't even launch on Intel Arc. Tried both options DX11 a DX12

Random crashes with DX12. DX11 works without an issue.

Only needed to install redistributables at first launch, everything worked flawlessly on DX12 on AMD.

Slight stuttering in the first few minutes of game. Fine thereafter.
Game runs flawlessly after first few minutes - presumed vulkan shaders loading. Biggest problem was getting TacSpeak to run with this in wine. This is doable! Both TacSpeak and the game needs to be running in the same wine prefix, input needs to be set to voice activation and all Visual C++ runtime versions need to be installed. Here follows a breakdown of how I did it:
In the settings file for tacspeak change input to 'None'. This ensures the keyboard is no longer required for voice inputs.
Via winetricks/protontricks install Visual C++ runtime:
-- select default wineprefix (the one that's running the game)
-- install windows DLL or component
-- install all versions of Visual C++ libraries (all vcrun options)
-- launch both the game and tacspeak in the same container using something like lutris or protontricks
Now game and voice input works flawlessly.

This is a report and semi a help request, first time ever playing this game.
It won't load anything besides launch options for steam then just crashes, I've tried using each latest Protons, and each launch option and it won't take me to the game at all, either the game is Borked on Linux, or I'm doing something wrong. Either if you could message me on here (if its possible) or add me on steam if you know of a fix, or have had this happened, otherwise the game seems borked for Ubuntu distro of Linux.

Switch to DX11 (DXVK) if using Nvidia, uneven frametime with DX12 (VKD3D)
Switch to DX11 (DXVK) if using Nvidia, uneven frametime with DX12 (VKD3D)

Switched to DX11
Minor performance drop
Runs perfectly smooth, just minor drops that I also encountered on Windows
Getting around ~5 FPS unfortunately

Works perfectly fine.
Spiel läuft ohne probleme.
Steam crahes constantly during startup, but the game eventually booted without problems.

Forced experimental but using proton 9.0-4 works fine as well, experimental just gave me more juice from the squeeze.

One time fps dropped to 10-15 for several seconds. No problems except for this one case

SteamDeck=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC PROTON_NO_FSYNC
Game starts out fine however, over time i noticed in certain areas my frames would take a signifigant impact (10-15fps)
Game would crash my Desktop/Window-Manager while in loading screens
After reading a bunch of other peoples experiences it seems like i'm just unlucky, maybe its my distro? the game runs quite horribly on my system and i can't seem to explain it. I spent many hours troubleshooting different proton versions & settings however, nothing seems to resolve the instability that i get.

run it on dx11. the option pops up before you run the game when you press play.
I bet you could also set launch options to -dx11 and it would just jump you in. overall, no changes that need to be made and runs great!

Works like a charm, no performance issues, no crashes
Absolutely no tinkering needed here. Although I would recommend you add gamemode and use Proton GE in any game you play (in general)
Also it seems like mod.io is borked, but that didn't work since the game updated to UE5 anyways so you can just mod manually.

With directx 12 mode, it gives an error that DirectX12 is not supported on this system. With Directx 11 it crashes on startup.
Might not work on Arc. Using i915 kernel driver.

Attempting to load into a level, may it be the PD or a mission, extremely often fails with only a black screen. Everything is still interactable, you can shoot, walk, use menus, etc. You can hear everything happening. However, you just can't see it.
With the cachyos variant of proton, I am able to load into a game. However, I am not able to load back into the PD afterwards. I must restart the game after every mission. With other versions of proton (9.0-4, experimental, proton-ge, 6.3-8), the loading issues happen the first time (thus necessitating a restart) instead of only on the return-trip.

Appendage to my last report, had to go way down in proton version.

Game starts, displays logos etc. Screen blacks out before the main menu, eventually crashes. Tried several versions of proton

Cant get the game to run.

Game crashes occasional, but this also happens on Windows for me. Could be due to my PC.
I had a lot of issues with starting the game at first. After tinkering with launch options, verifying files and switching between wayland/x11, nothing seemed to work. But thankfully a clean reinstall fixed if completely. Now I can run the game in DX12 with no launch options.

Seems to run more or less similar to windows experience and most of the problems caused by buginess of the game
Sometimes crashes during missions (about 1 in 3). Had same issue on WIn10 but less frequently.

A little slower (around 5FPS) compared to Win10 - of course with DLSS enabled on both.
No issues (I've played around 5h session at once). Just use Proton Experimental and you're golden.
