Subtitles in pre-title game intro are always Japanese on first launch, regardless of language chosen. Language applies properly after first launch. This does not affect menus or in-game cutscenes.

Game only has keyboard prompts.
Could not exit from in game, had to go to the Deck menu to close the game.
Tried to play online, but nobody appears to be playing the game online.

Gamepad is fully supported but only keyboard prompts are shown in-game. Only a few buttons are used however, and the layout is mostly common sense. To exit the game from the title screen, you need to use the STEAM + D-pad left combo (ESC key shortcut).
No issues at all.
Works perfectly

Game installs and works perfectly.
Game runs flawlessly now, all audio and cut scenes play properly without any extra tinkering.
All config options work as expected and performance is smooth and stable.
Works out of the box with Proton 5.13-1.

Proton-5.9-GE-7-ST GloriousEggroll
protontricks 1126750 wmp11
everything works fine once you install wmp11 into the wine prefix as the cutscenes in the game wont play without it. Probably don't need a custom proton version to get it working but I used one just in case

Unplayable unless you "delete" movie folder, no in-game audio.
After install, trying to play the game will throw an error box:
AudioHelpers
Fialed XAudio2::CreateMasteringVoice()
and it will crash after Bandai Namco logo screen, unless you rename the movie folder to something else:
- Right-click Mr. DRILLER DrillLand in Steam library --> Manage --> Browse local files
- Open data.dx folder --> Rename "movie" folder to anything else
Once this is done the game runs perfectly EXCEPT there are no cut-scenes and no audio at all, everything is silent.
Aside from that all the options work (resolution, control remapping, keyboard/gamepad are all ok) and single/multi player works fine with no crashing or stutter.
Crash seems to also occur on some Windows setups according to other users https://steamcommunity.com/app/1126750/discussions/0/2568689796940315309/
