Some stuttering at the beginning of some maps

Perfect OOB
Some mods might cause some rare crashes, YMMV but generally they're going to work fine for the most part.

game crashes
hl2 file corrupted borks the game

-vulkan
crashes sometimes idk if it's bc of addons
awesome

very good
it just works
Funciona sin problemas y a la primera.

-vulkan -novid +map credits +mp_gamemode gunbrain
Frequent effect error causing all entities to become invisible, leaving only map geometry, making the game almost completely unplayable. Can be worked around with mods.
Very frequent crash to desktop on map load. Occasional crash to desktop at any other random point for no discernable reason.

muito top

Thanks Valve for making your games run natively on Linux

mangohud PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command% -novid -vulkan -background $(shuf -i 1-5 -n 1)
By default, at least on both Nobara 41 and Fedora 42, only the Dead Center menu background appears unless you put "-background $(shuf -i 1-5 -n 1)" in the launch options. Also on Fedora 42, there's no main menu music unless you copy Portal 2's libmiles.so from Portal 2/bin to Left 4 Dead 2/bin and replace the file. Make sure the file is written in lowercase in order for the fix to work.
I don't know if it's a placebo, but PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 seems to reduce audio latency. "-vulkan" replaces ToGL with DXVK and makes the game run better, and "-novid" skips the startup intro.
Had to do some work, but after all that it works rather well. I just wish Valve fixed all these issues without having to do it ourselves.
Some issues I've mentioned, but with some effort it is possible to fix them.
Works flawlessly, just like on Windows.

Haven't tried Multiplayer, but playing Singleplayer with Bots works like a charm!

Works normally, mods may be an issue
Crashes sometimes, unsure if it's because of add-ons/mods. Didn't notice crashing on Windows.
Was able to play through most of The Last Stand campaign with friends without issues

Just works. Multiplayer runs flawless.

-novid -vulkan
Remember to add "-vulkan" to your launch options to use Vulkan.
Native version works perfectly. Connected to a custom server just fine.

-vulkan
On some workshop maps, the game sometimes freezes randomly and exits to the desktop.
The same workshop map issue I mentioned before.

Amazing zombie game, also is natively ported to linux
Mainly versus has a lot of toxic players but that isn't a linux issue
This game is an amazing zombie game, would highly recommend every steam user to have this game. Also no tinkering is required.
Linux 140-560 FPS, but on Windows 80-123 FPS

-vulkan
use -vulkan and it runs perfectly

Works great. But expect random crashes.
Switching virtual desktops in KDE causes the audio to duplicate.
The game would crash randomly.
You can join the same game after restarting the game though, so not much of a problem. The crashes were not related to the game state, I had the game crash on me even when there were no zombies around.

-vulkan -novid -lv +exec autoexec.cfg -refresh 165 -high -cl_disablehtmlmotd 1 +mat_motion_blur_percent_of_screen_max 0
Works as expected, no issues.
Add "-vulkan" in launch options for playing in vulkan. AFAIK normal native is opengl brightness was very low.

Works well
Works perfectly
The game now has problems starting, when you start, "Processing Vulkan Shaders" appears, it does not load and then it closes.

The game would crash sometimes during map changes. Disabling Multi Thread Rendering in the game settings fixed this.
Otherwise the game works well.

-vulkan -refresh 144
Native version of the game has many issues. Force compatibility layers in the settings and the game works perfectly.

Great native expierence even with mods
Easy playing with friends
Steam workshop works great, just double check comments under mods to see if any crash your game, otherwise mods work well.

-vulkan
When launching, whether with OpenGL or Vulkan, there is a chance of the image shifting upward, which manifests as a black bar at the bottom and a shift in the interactivity area of the buttons.
During an extended gaming session with OpenGL, after a certain amount of time, the game starts to freeze and then crashes. When playing with Vulkan, such crashes have not been observed.
No bugs/lags related to multiplayer have been noticed.
No bugs/lags have been noticed

If VSync is enabled, mouse can escape to second monitor. If it still escapes try enabling and disabling to fix it. Never had any issues with it after disabling VSync.
Very rarely, but more often on The Parish campaign, all props vanish from map and game instantly crashes seconds later.

Runs great, a few minor annoyances
This game runs great natively, however I use the Proton version (which also runs great) to avoid a few annoyances. First, when entering the chat wheel (pressing Z or Y), the default line (normally the one at the center of the wheel) is not selected by default, and instead seems to more or less randomly move to the left. Second, some Workshop maps and campaigns are known to be incompatible with the Linux native version and randomly crash. All of this can be avoided by running the Proton version.

-vulkan -novid -nojoy +mat_motion_blur_percent_of_screen_max 0
Switch game on Vulkan and remove
For extra performance just enable Vulkan and remove motion blur.

Works good out the box
